유치원 교실에서 참여권을 실현하기 위한 유아의 노력

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 유치원 교실에서 참여권을 실현하기 위해 유아가 사용하는 방법을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 A유치원 누리반을 관찰하고 연구 참여자들과 면담했다. 관찰자료, 면담자료, 문서 및시청각 자료, 현장일지 등 수집한 자료를 분석하여 연구결과가 도출되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 누리반 유아들은자신의 의사를 표현하고 수용될 수 있도록 언어적 방법을 사용했다. 먼저 유아들은 자신의 의사를 통보하여자신의 의사를 표현하고 수용될 수 있도록 했다. 또한, 상대방의 허락을 구하는 우호적인 방법을 사용하기도했으며 교사의 힘을 가져오기도 했다. 둘째, 누리반 유아들은 자신의 의사를 표현하고 수용될 수 있도록비언어적 방법을 사용했다. 먼저 유아들은 신체언어를 사용하여 자신의 의사를 표현하고 수용될 수 있도록했다. 그리고 침묵하거나 때로 쉼 없이 자신의 말을 반복하여 강하게 주장하기도 했다. 누리반 유아들은자신의 의사를 표현하고 수용될 수 있도록 다양한 방법을 사용하는 능력을 가진 존재였으며 일방적이기보다 우호적인 방법을 사용했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore what strategies 5-year-old children use to practice their rights to participate in the classroom activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documents, audiovisual materials, and field journals from a Nuri classroom in a Kindergarten. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, young children used linguistic approaches in ways what they expressed can be accepted. They included expressing their intentions, seeking permission for their said intentions, and asking for teachers. Additionally, children used a friendly strategy to ask permissions while they brought power of a teacher. Secondly, they used nonverbal methods to express themselves. They included the use of body language, silence, and strong assertion. Children showed the ability to use various strategies to express themselves and have what they expressed accepted. Children generally used friendly methods rather than unilateral ones. It was discussed that this study helps provide a new perspective on young children’s ability in expressing their opinions and exerting their influence in a classroom environment.
