코로나19 사태에 대한 음악치료 동향 및 과제

국문 초록

본 연구는 음악치료사들을 대상으로 코로나19 사태에 대한 음악치료 동향과 포스트 코로나 시대를 대비한 음악치료 발전 과제에 대해 알아보고자 하는 목적에서 수행되었다. 수집된 260개의 응답에 대해 치료사 고용 현황을 분석한 결과, 75명의 음악치료사가 코로나19로 인해 퇴직한 경험이 있으며, 이 중 26명의 음악치료사들은 설문 조사 시점에 더 이상 음악치료와 관련된 어떤 직무도 맡고 있지 않다고 보고하였다. 따라서 현재 음악치료 업무를 하지 않는다고 보고한 26명의 응답을 제외한 234명을 대상으로 조사한 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악치료 전 영역에서 치료사의 활동 시간 감소와 수입 감소가 보고되었고, 특히 노인 및 환자를 대상으로 일하는 치료사들의 피해가 가장 심각한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 음악치료사들은 개인 방역과 소독 등 코로나19에 대해 적극적으로 대처하고 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 그에 비해 음악치료 중재 방식 변경을 모색하거나 특히 원격 비대면 음악치료 서비스에 대한 시도는 소극적인 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 코로나19 사태가 불러온 재난 상황에 대해 음악치료사들은 음악치료 공동체의 다각적 도움을 기대하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 포스트 코로나 시대를 대비하기 위해 음악치료사들은 비대면 치료의 필요를 인식할 뿐 아니라 개인적인 노력도 병행하여야 한다고 보고하였다. 마지막으로 음악치료사들은 포스트 코로나 시대에는 음악치료의 전반적 영역에 있어 많은 변화가 있을 것으로 예상하며 특히 ‘일반인’ 클라이언트가 음악치료의 주 대상자가 될 것으로 기대하였다. 본 연구 결과는 코로나19 사태에서 음악치료사들의 현황과 대처를 이해하는데 도움을 주었으며, 재난 상황에서 음악치료사들을 지원하고 포스트 코로나 시대를 위한 대비를 하는데 중요한 정보를 제공하였다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted in order to examine music therapy trends in the COVID-19 outbreak and the tasks of music therapy in preparation for the post-corona era. As a result of analyzing the employment status of therapists for the 260 responses collected, 75 music therapists had retired due to the COVID-19, of which 26 music therapists no longer had any job related to music therapy at the time of the survey. Therefore, the results of the 234 cases, excluding the 26 respondents who reported not currently doing music therapy work, are as follows. First, a decrease in the therapist s working hours and income was reported in all areas of music therapy, and it was found that the therapists who worked for the elderly and patients were particularly influenced. Second, it was found that music therapists were actively coping with the COVID-19, such as disinfection, but on the other hand, seeking to change the method of music therapy intervention or, in particular, attempts to provide non-face-to-face music therapy services were confirmed to be passive. Third, it was found that music therapists expect multifaceted help from the music therapy community for this crisis brought by the COVID-19 outbreak. Fourth, in order to prepare for the post-corona era, music therapists reported that not only they should recognize the need for non-face-to-face intervention, but also personal efforts should be carried out. Lastly, music therapists expected that there would be many changes in the area of music therapy in the post-corona era, and in particular, clients without disability were expected to become the main targets for music therapy. The results of this study helped to understand the current situation and response of music therapists in the Corona 19 crisis, and provided important information to support music therapists in the crisis and prepare for the post-corona era.
