<모내기 노래>에 나타난 생태학적 사유와 상상력

국문 초록

이 글은 전승민요 중에서도 <모내기 노래>를 대상으로 생태학적 사유와 시적 상상력이 어떻게 나타나는지를 구체적으로 파악하고자 한 것이다. <모내기 노래>에 나타나는 생태학적 사유와 상상력의 특징은 크게 세 가지 측면에서 고찰되었다. 각 측면별로 고찰한 주요 내용을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째는 ‘자연 본위의 사유와 상상력’의 측면이다. <모내기 노래>는 민중들의 오랜 경험을 통해 축적된 자연에 대한 사유를 바탕으로 자연스럽게 의미를 생성하고 있었다. 또한 자연을 준거로 한 비유적 상상력을 통해 특정한 감정과 관념을 표현하고 있었다. 특히 성적 관심과 욕구를 표현하는 <모내기 노래>는 자연생태에 대한 공감적 비유를 통해 수준 있는 해학적 표현을 보여주었다. 둘째는 ‘순환론적 생태관과 상상력’의 측면이다. <모내기 노래>는 모심기를 하는 일련의 과정과 벼의 생육 기간에 상응하여 아침-낮(또는 점심)-저녁으로 구분되는 소리가 불린다는 점에서 순환론적 생태관이 내재되어 있다고 본다. 대체로 아침소리는 모심기-수확(영화)의 과정을 미리 꿈꾸면서 농민의 신분 상승이나 처지 변화에 대한 기대와 희망을 노래하며, 낮소리(점심소리 포함)는 인간의 본능적 욕구를 다양하게 표출하는 노래를 부른다. 그 한 가지가 성적 관심과 욕망 또는 남녀의 연정에 관한 노래이며, 다른 한 가지가 음식에 대한 욕구를 노래한 점심소리이다. 저녁소리는 가족간의 이별에 따른 원망이나 그리움, 또는 죽음에 대한 허망함이나 슬픔을 노래하는 한편 임과의 만남을 통한 사랑과 행복을 노래한다. 그리고 노래의 상당수가 자연과 인간이 유기적으로 연결되어 있다는 생태관을 바탕으로 자연적 존재나 현상의 순환과정을 노래하는 특성을 보여주었다. 셋째는 ‘자연과의 교감과 공존 지향’의 측면이다. <모내기 노래>에서 인간과 자연 사이의 대화를 통해 공감을 표현하는 노래들을 상당수 찾을 수 있다. 자연적 대상을 청자로 설정하여, 화자가 처한 처지나 상황에 대한 공감적 교류를 도모함으로써 인간과 자연의 일체화된 존재감을 나타낸다. 이는 궁극적으로 인간과 자연이 서로에게 풍요와 행복을 주면서 그것들을 함께 누리며 살아가는 공존과 공생의 에코토피아의 세계를 지향한다.

영문 초록

This article is intended to specifically understand how ecological thinking and poetic imagination are expressed in among the folk songs. The characteristics of ecological thought and imagination in were considered in three aspects. The main contents considered for each aspect are as follows. The first is the aspect of Nature-based thinking and imagination . was creating meaning naturally based on the thoughts of nature accumulated through the people s long experience. Also, These songs expressed specific emotions and ideas through a figurative imagination based on nature. In particular, , which expresses sexual interest and desire, showed a high level of humorous expression through empathetic analogy about natural ecology. Second is the aspect of ‘circulatory ecology and imagination’. In , a cyclical ecological view is inherent in that a series of processes of planting and sound divided into morning-day(or lunch)-evening are called in correspondence with the growing period of rice. In general, the morning sound sings the hopes and hopes of a farmer s rise or change in status while dreaming of the process of planting-harvesting in advance, while the daytime sound (including lunch sound) expresses various human instincts. The one is a song about sexual interests and desires or a relationship between a man and a woman, and the other is a lunch sound that sang a desire for food. Evening sounds about resentment or longing for family breakup, or hunger or sorrow for death, while singing love and happiness through meeting with lover. Also, based on the ecological view that many of the songs are organically connected to nature and human beings, they showed the characteristics of thinking connected to the natural existence or circulating processes of phenomena. The third is the aspect of communion and coexistence with nature . In , you can find many songs expressing empathy through dialogue between humans and nature. By setting the natural object as a listener, it promotes empathic exchanges about the situation or situation of the speaker, thereby showing the unified presence of human and nature. This ultimately aims for a world of coexistence as a Ecotopia where humans and nature enjoy each other while giving them abundance and happiness.
