대학생의 내·외현적 자기애와 분노 간 우울의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 경기지역의 대학생 223명을 대상으로 대학생 개인의 분노에 미치는 영향으로 자기애를 내/외현적 자기애로 구분하여 우울과의 상관관계를 살펴보았고, 내/외현적 자기애와 분노와의 관계에서 우울의 매개역할을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 대학생의 내/외현적 자기애, 우울, 분노 변인 간 상관관계는 모두 정적(+)인 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또, 대학생의 내/외현적 자기애, 우울은 분노와의 관계에서 유의미한 영향관계가 나타났고, 대학생의 내/외현적 자기애는 우울에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 대학생의 내/외현적 자기애와 분노간 우울은 유의미한 부분매개역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구의 함의점은 대학생이 표현하는 분노는 내/외현적 자기애 성향과 우울정도의 크기에 따라서 개인차가 있다는 것을 연구를 통하여 확인이 되었다는 것과 대학생들이 표현하는 분노는 대학생 개인의 외현적 자기애보다 내현적 자기애의 성향이 클수록 더 크게 분노로 표현되고 있다는 점이다. 본 연구결과는 대학생활에 부적응으로 어려움을 호소하는 대학생들에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 여러 대안 중 하나로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 각 대학의 학생상담센터에서는 개인 상담이나 집단프로그램에서 ‘어떻게 개입할 것인가’에 대한 상담 전략 수립 시 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The present study took 223 university student subjects in the Gyeonggi-do region and examined the correlation between narcissism and depression by distinguishing covert/overt narcissism as factors that impact individual anger, in addition to examining the mediating role of depression with regard to the relationship between covert/overt narcissism and anger. The research results show that the correlations between covert/overt narcissism, depression, and anger variables are positively(+) significant. Furthermore, the covert/overt narcissism and depression of the students had a significant impact on their respective relationships with depression, while covert/overt narcissism appeared to significantly impact depression. Depression was confirmed to play a significant partially mediating role between covert/overt narcissism and anger. Therefore, the implications of the present study are that the anger expressed by students varies by the individual depending on the disposition toward covert/overt narcissism and the degree of depression, and that anger is expressed as greater anger when the individual college student’s disposition toward covert narcissism is greater than that of overt narcissism. The results of the present study can be used as one of various alternatives that can help students struggling with adjusting to college life. Furthermore, the student counseling centers of each university can use this as basic data when establishing a counseling strategy for ‘how to intervene’ in individual counseling or group programs.
