국문 초록

본 연구는 공동경험을 통한 협동화 그리기 활동이 유아의 그림 표현능력과 사회적 유능감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구에서는 인천광역시에 소재한 Y유치원의 만 5세 유아 23명을 실험집단으로 하고, 인근에 위치한 D유치원의 만 5세 유아 23명을 비교집단으로 하여 실험을 실시하였다. 실험집단의 유아는 주 1회의 공동경험을 체험하고 그것을 바탕으로 협동화 그리기 활동을 12주 동안 총 12회를 실시하였다. 비교집단의 유아는 생활주제에 따른 개별그리기 활동을 실시하였다. 본 연구 활동을 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 그림 표현능력에서 실험집단과 비교집단은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 그림 표현능력의 다섯 가지 하위요인인 그림 내용의 적절성, 구체적 세부 묘사, 독창적 성향, 사용된 재료와 도구의 적절성, 화면의 조화로운 구성에서 실험집단이 비교집단보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 사회적 유능감에서 실험집단과 비교집단은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 사회적 유능감의 네 가지 하위요인인 정서조절, 사회적 규범이해, 또래관계 기술, 정서성에서 실험집단이 비교집단보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 유아교육현장에서 공동경험을 통한 협동화 그리기 활동을 통해 유아의 그림 표현능력과 사회적 유능감을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the effects of a cooperative drawing activity involving co-experience on preschool children s drawing expression and social competence. The subjects of the study were 46 4-year-old preschool children. The 23 children in the experimental group had a co-experience activity once a week, and through this, performed weekly cooperative drawing activities for a total of 12 weeks. The 23 children in the comparative group carried out individual drawing activities. The collected data were subjected to an analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) using SPSS 20.0. The results can be summarized as follows. First, there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in drawing expression. The experimental group showed more improvement than the comparative group in the five subfactors of drawing expression: content appropriateness, detail description, creativity, properties of the tools and materials, and the harmonious formation. Second, there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in social competence. The experimental group exhibited more improvement than the comparative group in the four subfactors of social competence: emotion regulation, social norms, peer relational skills, and emotionality. These results suggest that the cooperative drawing activity involving co-experience could be employed as a way to improve children s drawing expression and social competence.
