영문 초록

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the problems pertaining to information technology system implementation and training in medium size firms through fact-finding surveys and to suggest the strategies for improving the problems found from survey results. Sampling of the survey was performed among 1700 medium sized firms keeping to traditional manufacturing productions located in both Seoul and other provinces. The total respondents were 297 persons among CEO (142 persons) and general managers (155 persons) groups. The findings were as follows: 1. Many medium sized firms have implemented informational technology systems. However, most of the CEOs did not realize the importance of using informational technology systems for improving production and effective management. Therefor, policy-makers should plan specific strategies for improving CEO`s recognition for information technology system uses. 2. In-house training programs related to information technology uses for medium sized firms should be provided. Also, the contents of its program should be composed to aim for the real world and blend on-line and off-line training methods.
