고등학생의 진로결정 수준 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 직업에 대한 진로결정 수준의 차이에 영향을 미치는 변인과 학교계열, 즉 일반계 고등학교와 전문계 고등학교 간 차이를 밝히고, 학교계열에 따라 변인들의 영향이 어떻게 달라지는지 분석하는 데 있다. 또한 일반계와 전문계 진학을 결정하는 주요 변인인 학업성취도가 진로결정에 미치는 영향이 학교계열에 따라 어떻게 다른지 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 한국교육 고용패널의 1차년도 고3 코호트 자료(2004)를 활용하였으며, 개인수준과 학교수준의 영향력을 독립적으로 살펴보기 위해 다층모형을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 학교 간 진로결정 수준의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 진로결정에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 9개 변인 중 학업성취, 적성인지, 가족활동, 진로교과, 진로체험 변인이 개인수준에서 유의미한 영향을 주는 변인으로 확인되었으며, 학교수준에서는 학교계열이 유의미하게 나타났다. 학업성취가 진로결정 수준에 미치는 영향은 학교계열에 따라 유의마한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 모형에서 변인의 설명력은 개인, 학교 가정 변인 순으로 높게 나타났다. 또한, 전문계 고등학교가 일반계 고등학교에 비해 학생들의 진로결정 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 회귀계수는 0.137 정도로 작게 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 첫째, 진로교육은 개인의 적성을 인지할 수 있는 학습과 체험의 기회가 되어야 한다. 둘째, 학생들의 진로교육과 관련하여 학교의 역할이 증대되고 있으며, 셋째, 전문계 고등학교 학생들의 고학력화 현상이 심화되고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing career decision making level of high school students and differences between vocational and general high school students. For this purpose, we used a sample from the Korean Education and Employment Panel(KEEP) and analyzed this by hierarchical Linear Model(HLM). The results of this study showed that career decision making level of vocational high school student was a little more higher than general school students but the differences were a matter of small importance. In addition, students achievement and recognition of aptitude out of the individual variables, activities with family out of the family variables, and instruction of career subject and job-related career experiences out of the school variables were found to be statistically significant factors on students` career decision. To conclude, it is anticipated that differences of career decision making level between vocational and general high school students would gradually decrease because of overeducation problem. Therefore, we suggested that it should be necessary to establish the social climate for respecting the skills and competencies rather than school career.
