따돌림을 경험한 학교 밖 청소년의 소외감에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 따돌림이 학교 밖 청소년들의 소외감과 우울 등의 심리적 문제에 미치는 영향을 검증하고 소외감의 요인 중에 실존적 소외감이 있는지를 현상학적 연구방법을 통하여 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 김포시에서 지원하는 H 사단법인 학교 밖 청소년 검정고시반 학생들을 대상으로 따돌림과 소외감, 우울 지수를 측정하여 절단점 이상의 점수가 높은 청소년 3인을 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 점수가 높은 참여자 3인의 측정 점수를 분석한 결과 따돌림 점수가 높게 나온 참여자들이 소외감, 우울 점수도 높게 나온 것을 알 수 있었고 이들을 대상으로 현상학적 연구를 진행한 결과 소외감으로 인한 우울이 자살생각 또는 자살시도로까지 이어졌음을 볼 수 있었다. 자료 분석은 현상학적 연구방법으로 실제적 경험에 대한 의미를 밝히는데 중점을 맞춘 Giorgi의 분석 방법을 사용하였다. 참여자들의 소외감과 우울의 주제를 심층 면담 시 참여자들이 표현한 언어로 찾아내게 되었고 이 주제를 가지고 내재되어 있는 중심의미를 통합하여 참여자들의 상황적, 구조적 기술을 도출하게 되었다. 그 결과 참여자들은 집단 따돌림으로 인하여 죽음에 이를 것 같은 극심한 공포와 두려움을 경험하였고 가족 안에서도 소외를 경험함으로써 마침내는 자신존재에 대해서도 부정을 하게 되는 지경에 까지 이르게 되었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 상황들을 해결하여 공포감과 두려움에서 벗어나고자 했지만 시간이 흘러도 자신들을 힘들게 하는 따돌림의 문제가 감소되지 않고 오히려 혼자되는 시간 들 속에서 주변 가족과 지인들의 죽음을 직면하며실존적 소외감까지 느끼게 되었다. 따라서 따돌림 피해 청소년을 상담할 때는 이와같은 현상들을 통찰하면서 ‘존재와 죽음’이라는 실존적 측면에서 접근하며 상담을 진행하는 것이 도움이 될 것이라고 여겨진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify whether bullying affects out of school youth by causing their depression and a sense of alienation and to identify the existence of the existential alienation through the Phenomenological Research Methodology. In order to fulfill the purpose of the study, students who dropped out of the school and studied in Korea Youth Happy Sharing center responded to the questionnaire so as to measure their alienation, depression and bullying. 3 students were chosen for in-depth interviewing, who showed high scores on the questionnaire. Theses students showed high scores not only on bullying but on alienation and depression as well. Through the Phenomenological research methodology, it turned out that they had thought about committing suicide and had tried to do it because of bullying. I employed the method of Giorgi in order to verify the true meaning on existential experience. Through the interview with them, I found that they felt a sense of alienation and depression. By integrating its meaning and their situation, I drew the structural description. Because of bullying, they felt the fear of death and terror, which is founded through the conversation with them, and they also felt isolated from their family. Although they tried to be separated from the groups in order to escape the feelings of terror and fear of death, the situation got worsen. Moreover, the death of their cousins made them alienated from the world and their family. Therefore when interviewing the school dropouts, we should employ the counseling method which can explain the existence and death in the aspects of education.
