영문 초록

This article reviews clinical use of Rey-Kim Memory Test(RKMT), which is the first standardized memory test in Korea. Special emphasis is given to use of various indices of RKMT for addressing important clinical issues in assessing memory-impaired patients. The Scaled Scores of RKMT are most useful for detailed analyses of trial-by-trial performance. MQ, which is the summary index of RKMT, is the most important index of overall memory functioning. The Differential Scale measures qualitative aspects of performance and includes 7 indices. The indices of Learning Curve , Memory Retention , and Retrieval Efficiency can be used for differentiating the most impaired among the three memory steps(i.e., registration, retention, retrieval). The index of Verbal/Visual Memory Consistency can be used for differentiating global versus material-specific memory deficits. The index of Drawing/Memory Consistency or Intelligence/Memory Consistency can reflect whether memory only or other cognitive functions as well are impaired. The index of Pre/Postmorbid MQ Consistency can reflect the degree of memory decline following brain damage. Seven case studies of memory disorders are included to illustrate clinical utility of various indices of RKMT.
