The purpose of this study is to research what kind of effect is derived from cooperative art therapy on peer relation of autistic children. Subjects of this study were one of mentally retarded child and two of autistic children in their same age and similar IQ, and the children, who had problems in their peer relation for play, personal relation and communication, had 50 minutes of therapy two times a week, total 42 times. In this cooperative art therapy, materials like crayon pastel, water color and collage were suggested for them for free expression. It was diagnosed with CARS, and analyzation of this study was done by pre- and post-test by E-CLAC, with qualitative analyzation by observation of researcher and one of observer and with report of their parents and teachers of their kindergarten. The conclusion of this study are as follows; First, cooperative art therapy is effective on change of their peer relation which was shown in their activity in each term. Second, cooperative art therapy is effective on change of their play in peer relation. It is effective on change of peer relation like increase of kinds of their play, improving their play relation with children and adults. Third, cooperative art therapy is effective on change of their personal relation in their peer relation. It showed significant effect on change of their peer relation like relation with their parents, relation with other children, and improvement of relation, but showed only a little change of their personal relation with other adults. Fourth, cooperative art therapy is effective on their change of communication in their peer relation. This study had limit in regard for variable factors like gender and number of children when I choose subject children, and it had shortage in study on change of peer relation because the period of therapy was short. Therefore, I d like to suggest that we need continuous following study through investigation and design with overcoming this limit.
