국문 초록

연구목적은 ‘공원에 살고 있는 것’ 프로젝트 과정 중 유아들의 생태계 상호연결성 이해 단계를 밝히는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 S어린이집의 만 5세 반 교사 1명과 유아 20명, 그리고 프로젝트 전 과정을 지원한 그 원의 원장이다. 프로젝트는 2018년 3월 26일∼2018년 4월 27일까지 5주간 진행되었다. 연구 자료는 프로젝트 과정 중 작성된 교사 연구일기부터 연구자 저널까지 다양하게 수집되었다. 분석방법은 질적 분석방법 중 나선형 자료 분석 과정을 따랐다. 연구결과로서 유아의 생태계 상호연결성 이해 단계는 1) 생물 각각에만 관심 보이는 단계, 2) 두 자연물 간의 연결성을 막연하게 인식하는 단계, 3) 두 자연물 간의 상호연결성을 사실적으로 인식하는 단계, 4) 두 자연물 이상의 상호연결성과 생태계에 대한 인간의 영향을 인식하는 단계, 5) 건강한 생태계를 위한 삶의 변화 필요성을 인식하고 노력하는 단계까지의 5단계로 나타났다. 이런 결과에 기초하여 크게 4가지 점을 논의하고 추후 연구과제 1가지를 제안하였다. 시사점으로, 동네 공원이 유아교육의 효과적인 장으로서 역할 할 수 있으며, 이때 프로젝트를 통해 생태계 구성원 간 상호연결성 이해가 단계적으로 이루어질 수 있음을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify how children understand interconnectedness of ecosystem when implementing the living things in the park project. Participants were 20 children of age 5 attending S child care center, the classroom teacher, and the director of the institution who supported the whole project. The project lasted for five weeks from March 26, 2018 to April 27, 2018. Various types of research data were gathered including teacher s reflective journals and observation journals, which were conducted during the project. The data were analyzed based on the spiral analytic approach as one of qualitative analysis methods. Five phases of their interconnectedness understandings about ecosystem were found. They were a phase of showing interests only to the living creatures, a phase of vaguely recognizing the connectedness of two natural objects, a phase of realistically recognizing the connectedness of two natural objects, a phase of recognizing the interconnectedness of two natural objects and the impacts that human beings have on the ecosystem, and a phase of recognizing the need of change and strive for a healthy ecosystem. Implications were suggested in terms of the importance of utilizing the community parks for young children and their development of step-by-step understandings of the ecosystem community members’ interconnectedness.
