영문 초록

The study aims at providing the basic data required for effective administration and settlement of homebound employment programs by analyzing the contents and outcome of the homecraft training programs administered by St. Benedict Rehabilitation Center as part of the efforts to develop a homebound employment model of increasing the opportunities for severely disabled people to secure their substantial income and social participation for the purpose of their independent living and social integration. To achieve the research goal, the study not only examines the concept, the target, the types, and the function of homebound employment, but compares the sociopsychological outcome of the programs by both explaining the homecraft training programs 2002 at St. Benedict Rehabilitation Center and reviewing them, beforehand and afterward, utilizing related administrative data on economic outcome and questionnaires. The outcome of the homecraft training programs at St. Benedict Rehabilitation Center came out, in economic aspect, as the total input(cost) being 23,453,885 won and the output 14,193,500 won, which is about 61.8 percent level of the input. The labor cost claimed most of the input, 17,483,885, about 74.5 percent of the cost while other expenses marked just 5,970,000 won. The economic outcome for the year 2002 suggests that the programs would be very successful in the longrun if we consider the facts that the main target of the homebound employment was severely disabled people and that once they get the homebound employment, they could have a long term effect(pey) that could be sustained. The sociopsychological outcome came out as their degree of social adaptation had risen from 57.2 beforehand to 63.0 afterward. The self contentment, the row-ranking element in the measure of social adaptation, came out high afterward, but their participation in social activities remained more or less the same. Since the programs were found useful in increasing the homebound severely disabled people s productivity and sociopsychological satisfaction, the programs deserve activation.
