국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아기 부모들이 자녀의 창의성교육에서 부모의 역할을 무엇이라고 인식하는지 은유분석을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 영유아기 자녀를 키우는 부모 267명이 제시한 자녀의 창의성교육에서의 부모 역할에 대한 은유표현이며, 연구방법은 이를 바탕으로 체계적인 은유분석을 실시하였다. 자녀의 창의성교육에서 영유아기 부모들이 인식하는 부모 역할에 대해 은유를 통해 알아본 결과 11개로 범주화되었다. 도출된 범주 유형의 이름은 부모들이 제시한 은유를 근거로 명명하였으며 범주 유형은 네비게이션, 치어리더, 환경제공자, 적극적 행동자, 거울, 협력자, 기다리는 사람, 친구, 관찰자, 질문자, 방해꾼으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 나타난 창의성교육에서 영유아기 부모의 역할에 대한 인식은, 창의성교육에 있어서 영유아기 부모들에게 제공해야 할 부모의 역할 등을 포함한 창의성 관련 부모교육프로그램의 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the roles of parents with young children in promoting creativity. Methods: Metaphor analysis was used to investigate how the parents of young children perceived their roles in promoting creativity in creativity education. Parents with young children were asked to complete metaphorical expressions and explain how metaphors relate to parents’ roles in creativity education. Results: According to the results, parents’ roles in promoting creativity were classified according to 11 categories: navigation (n = 63, 23.6%), cheerleader (n = 40, 15.0%), the physical environment (n = 38, 14.2%), active actor (n = 37, 13.9%), mirror (n = 22, 8.2%), partner (n = 16, 6.0%), “wait and see” (n = 16, 6.0%), friend (n = 15, 5.6%), observer (n = 9, 3.4%), questioner (n = 6, 2.2%), and troublemaker (n = 5, 1.9%). Conclusion: Creativity education does not only take place in school but also through one’s entire life. Young children spend time with parents, and their interactions with each other are numerous. Thus, parents need to think about their roles in promoting their children’s creativity and take appropriate actions. Implications: Findings of this study will be discussed in terms of the implications for a parents’ education program regarding.
