국문 초록

본 연구는 청년층 장애인의 실업문제가 매우 심각함에도 불구하고 이에 대한 우리 사회의 관심은부족하다는 인식을 바탕으로 청년층 장애인의 경제활동 특성들을 살펴보고 적절한 고용대책을 제안하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 청년층 장애인의 경제활동, 일자리 특성 그리고 취업 영향요인을분석하였다. 분석결과 청년층 장애인의 경제활동은 전체 청년층보다 취약하며 일자리 역시 열악한것으로 드러났다. 청년층 장애인의 취업에는 연령, 학력, 기초생활수급여부, 가구주여부, 장애유형이영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연령은 높을수록 취업확률이 높아지며, 학력의 경우는 중졸이하와고졸자는 대졸이상의 학력자보다 취업확률이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 기초생활수급자의 경우는 비수급자에 비해 취업확률이 낮았으며 가구주인 경우는 비가구주에 비해 취업확률이 높았다. 장애유형과 관련해서는 정신적 장애인의 취업확률이 신체내부 장애인보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과를 토대로 청년층 장애인의 고용 확대를 위한 제안을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of the economic activities of young adults with disabilities and to suggest what measures should be taken to facilitate their job finding. Although there are serious problems with young adults with disabilities, there isn t yet careful concern about their problems in Korean society, and it s specifically meant in this study to analyze the economic activities and job characteristics of these people and the influential factors for their employment. The findings of the study were as follows: Young adults with disabilities weren t economically active enough when they were compared with the entire generation of the same age groups, and their jobs weren t good enough, either. As a result of analyzing what factors affected their job finding, that was under the influence of age, academic credential, whether to be a basic livelihood security recipient or not, whether to be a householder or not, and the type of disability. Older ages led to a higher job-finding probability. As for academic credential, the middle-school graduates and the high-school graduates were less likely to get a job than those who received college or higher education. The young adults who were basic livelihood security recipients were less likely to find a job than the others who weren t, and the householders were more likely to be employed than the non-householders. Concerning the type of disability, the young adults with mental disorder were more likely to get a job than those with internal physical handicaps. Given the findings of the study, how to increase the employment of young adults with disabilities was suggested.
