국문 초록

1990년대 후반부터 활성화되기 시작한 박물관교육은 박물관교육에 대한 연구 또한 풍성하게 만들고 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 박물관교육의 연구는 현재의 문제점을 진단하고 대안을 제시하는 것에 국한하여 이루어지고 있어 그 역사적 발전에 대한 경험의 축적이 소홀한 실정이다. 극히 부분적으로 이루어진 박물관교육의 역사 연구는 현재 박물관교육의 현주소를 파악할 수 있게 한다는 점에서 많은 시사점을 제공할 수 있다. 본 연구는 1949년부터 시작된 박물관교육이 국립박물관을 중심으로 어떠한 변화과정을 거쳐왔는지를 성인교육에 국한하여 밝히고자 한다. 특히 본 연구는 국립박물관에서의 박물관 성인교육프로그램이 교육대상과 교육내용, 그리고 교육방법 등의 측면에서 변화과정을 살펴보고 있다. 역사적으로 볼 때 국립박물관의 교육대상은 교사와 같은 전문가교육에서부터 점차 일반인을 대상으로 하는 교육으로 옮겨오는 변화를 보인다. 그리고 일반인교육의 경우에서도 대상을 엄격하게 나누어 진행하던 경계들이 점차 사라지고, 전문가교육도 현재 종사자가 아닌 미래의 예비전문가를 대상으로 하는 과정으로까지 확대되어 가고 있다. 교육 내용의 경우 박물관의 전시물과 관련된 주제에 제한되었던 것에서부터 범위가 점차 확대되고 넓어지는 경향을 보이고 있다. 교육방법과 관련해서는 강의 중심으로 진행되던 것에서 답사나 실습 등 체험식 방법을 더해가는 특징을 보여준다. 국립박물관의 성인교육은 현재 대상과 내용, 방법 등에 있어서 경계를 없애고 보다 광범위해지는 특성을 드러낸다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to look into the shape of changes with the criteria of the object of education, the content of education and the method of education in the stream of the times by classifying them into an education program for public and an education program for specialists. I would like to look into the process of the historical change of the education program for adults with 13 National Museum as the center in this paper. The education program for adults by the Museum, which has originated from the education program for specialists including teachers, shows the trend to migrate its object to the public gradually. The contents of the education program for adults by Museum is restricted to the contents which is related directly to the museum to reinforce the professional expertise and transmit the understanding and the historical/cultural knowledge to the teachers or employees of jobs related to the museum. Later, an education program was introduced for learning the traditional handcraft which is less relative, as soon as the programs are widened for the public. At the beginning, the method of education was around the lecture for the massive public. A lecture around the history of art or archeology classified in cultural properties and subject. However, as time goes on, such a method began to be shown, and the educational method that was introduced first of all was am exploration on historic sites. Later, the experience was strengthened and the actual practice education was begun.
