애도를 위한 집단미술치료가 배우자 사별노인의 애도, 우울 및 자아통합감에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 애도를 위한 집단미술치료를 배우자 사별노인 대상으로 실시하여 애도, 우울과 자아통합감에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위해서 부산광역시 노인복지관을 이용하고 있는 26명의 배우자 사별노인으로 무선 표집하여 실험집단에 13명, 통제집단에 13명을 배치하여 실험을 실시하였다. 실험집단에는 주 1회 180분씩 총 8회기의 애도를 위한 집단미술치료를 실시하였으며, 같은 기간 동안 통제집단에 대해서는 아무런 처치를 가하지 않았다. 측정도구로는 애도 척도와 우울 척도, 자아통합감 척도를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 애도를 위한 집단미술치료가 애도슬픔의 감소에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 애도를 위한 집단미술치료가 우울의 감소에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 애도를 위한 집단미술치료가 자아통합감의 향상에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 애도를 위한 집단미술치료가 배우자 사별노인의 사별슬픔과 우울을 감소시키고 자아를 통합하여 성공적인 노화에 이르는데 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a group art therapy for mourning on the grief, depression and ego-integrity of elderly people bereaved of their spouses. The subjects were 26 randomly selected senior citizens who used a senior welfare center in the city of Busan and who were bereaved of their spouses. They were divided into an experimental group of 13 and a control group of 13, and then an experiment was implemented. A group art therapy for mourning was provided for the experimental group in eight sessions, once a week, 180 minutes each, and no action was taken with the control group during the same period of time. The instruments used in this study were a grief scale, a depression scale, and an ego-integrity scale. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the group art therapy for mourning was found to have a significant effect reducing grief. Second, the group art therapy for mourning was found to have a significant effect decreasing depression. Third, the group art therapy for mourning was found to have a significant effect on improving ego-integrity. Accordingly, the group art therapy for mourning was effective at ensuring the successful aging of the elderly bereaved of their spouses by relieving their grief and depression and by facilitating their ego-integration.
