장애노인의 우울이 자살의도에 미치는 영향과 사회적 지지의 조절효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애노인의 우울, 사회적 지지 및 자살의도 간의 관계를 규명하고, 우울과 자살의도에 대한 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 12차 한국복지패널(KWPS) 데이터를 활용하여 결측치를 제외한 장애노인 734명의 자료를 최종 분석하였다. 자료는 SPSS WIN v21.0을 활용하여 기술통계, 상관관계 분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애노인의 우울, 사회적 지지, 자살의도 간에는 일부변수를 제외한 변수들 간에 정적 혹은 부적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장애노인의 우울과 자살의도 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지가 조절효과가 있었는데, 사회적 지지 유형에 따라 조절효과가 다르게 나타났다. 즉, 사회적 지지 중 가족지지는 부적인 조절효과가, 친구 ․이웃지지는 정적인 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과에 근거하여 사회적 지지, 특히 가족지지를 향상시키고 자살의도를 낮출 수 있는 실천 및 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify the relationship between depression, social support and suicidal intention of the elderly with disability, and to verify the moderating effect of social support between depression and suicidal intention. For these purposes, 734 senior citizens with disabilities, excluding missing values, were finally analyzed from the 12th Korea Welfare Panel Study(KWPS). The results of this study are as follows. First, the degree of depression, social support, and suicide of elderly people with disabilities had the positive or negative statistical association between variables except for some variables. Second, the statistics showed the moderating effect of social support between depression and suicidal intention, depending on the types of social support. In other words, family support among social support had the negative moderating effect, while friend and neighborhood support showed the positive effect. Based on the study results, this research suggested the practice and policy implications to increase social support, especially family support, to the elderly with disability as well as to decrease their suicidal intention
