중·고령 지체장애인의 인터넷 활용이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 : 사회경제활동 참여의 조절효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중·고령 지체장애인의 인터넷 활용이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 사회경제활동 참여의 조절효과를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 서울 및 경기 지역에 거주하는 45세 이상의 지체장애인을 대상으로 구조화된 설문조사를 실시하였고, 총 298명의 응답 자료를 분석대상으로 하였다. 분석방법으로는 SPSS 23.0을 이용하여 빈도분석 및 기술통계 분석, 상관관계 분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 조사대상자의 인터넷 활용 정도는 평균 2.26점(5점 척도)이었고, 삶의 만족도는 평균 3.52점(7점 척도)으로 나타났다. 인구사회학적 요인(성별, 연령, 배우자 유무, 교육 수준, 종교 유무, 기초생활수급자 여부)과 장애관련 요인(장애 정도, 중복장애 여부, 주관적 건강상태)을 통제한 후, 인터넷 활용과 사회경제활동 참여는 삶의 만족도에 유의한 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 사회경제활동 참여는 인터넷 활용과 삶의 만족도의 관계에서 부(-)적인 조절효과를 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 통제변수로는 성별, 장애 정도, 주관적 건강상태가 유의한 영향요인으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 중·고령 지체장애인의 사회경제활동 참여에 따라 인터넷 활용을 증진시켜 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the effects of internet utilization on life satisfaction among middle-aged and older adults with physical disabilities and the moderating effects of participation in social and economic activities on the relationship between internet utilization and life satisfaction. A structured survey was conducted with 298 persons with physical disabilities aged 45 years or older living in Seoul or Gyeonggi provinces, South Korea. Descriptive statistical and frequency, correlational, and hierarchical regression analyses were conducted in SPSS 23.0. Results indicate that average internet utilization score was 2.26 (5-point Likert scale) and life satisfaction was 3.52 (7-point Likert scale). After controlling for sociodemographic factors (gender, age, presense of spouse, educational levels, religion, and receipt of national basic livelihood security system benefits) and disability-related factors (severity, multiple disabilities, subjective health status), internet utilization and participation in social and economic activities were positively associated with life satisfaction. A negative moderating effect of participation in social and economic activities on the relationship between internet utilization and life satisfaction was found. Regarding control variables, female gender, more severe disability, and higher subjective health conditions were positively related to higher levels of life satisfaction. This study informs the development of services to increase internet utilization for middle-aged or older adults with physical disabilities and different levels of social participation, ultimately promoting better life satisfaction.
