국문 초록

본 연구는 희귀난치성 질환 자녀를 돌보는 어머니의 삶의 경험과 그 의미의 내러티브 탐구를 하고자 수행하였다. 연구 참여자는 희귀난치성 질환 혈우병 자녀를 20년 이상 돌보는 어머니 3명이었다. 심층면담을 통한 자료 수집기간은 2018년 6월부터 7월까지이며 참여자당 총 3-7회 심층면담을 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)의 내러티브탐구 분석 방법으로, 전체적인 기술의 방향을 시간성의 차원과 상호성의 차원으로 참여자들의 삶의 경험과 의미를 분석하였다. 연구 참여자들 삶은 ‘갈등 중재자로서의 삶’, ‘죄인으로서의 삶’, ‘유리그릇을 끌어안고 사는 삶’, ‘스스로 위로하는 삶’으로 나타났다. 그리고 이들의 삶의 경험과 의미는 ‘혼돈’ - ‘불안한 애착’ - ‘재정의’ - ‘수용과 적극적 대처’ - ‘회복과 동행’으로 다시 이야기 되었다. 본 연구는 희귀난치성 질환 자녀를 돌보는 어머니와 가족의 정서적 회복과 성장을 돕는 상담 및 교육 프로그램의 개발을 위한 자료로 활용될 것이다. 또한 희귀난치성 질환 자녀를 돌보는 어머니 삶의 경험과 그 의미에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 제공하여 더욱 효율적인 가족치료를 제공하는데 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives: This study aimed to conduct a narrative inquiry into the meaning of life experiences in mothers of children with rare diseases. Study participants were 3 mothers who took care of their children with the rare disease hemophilia for more than 20 years. Methods: Date were collected through in-depth interviews between June and July, 2018. Three to seven interviews were conducted with each participant. The meaning of life experiences in participants was analyzed from the dimensions of interaction and continuity, utilizing the narrative inquiry analysis of Clandinin and Connelly (2000). Results: The results identified ‘life as a conflict mediator’, ‘life as a sinner’, ‘life to live clutching a glass bowl’, and ‘life as being a comfort to oneself , and the meaning of life experience were retold as ‘chaos’ - ‘anxious attachment’ - ‘redefining’ - ‘acceptance and active coping’ - ‘recovery and accompanying’. Conclusions: Consequently, it will be useful as a resource for the development of counseling and educational programs to support the emotional recovery and growth of the families and mothers of children with rare diseases. Furthermore, this study will provide a deeper understanding of the lives and meaning of experiences of mothers of children with rare diseases, which will contribute to greater efficiency in family therapy.
