유아영재교육에 대한 예비유아교사의 개념도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 개념도 방법을 활용하여 예비유아교사의 유아영재교육에 대한 다양한 인식을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 브레인스토밍 및 진술문 작성에 부산광역시 소재의 P대학 유아교육과 재학생 43명이 참여하였으며, 이들 중 18명이 진술문의 분류와 평정을 실시하였다. 중요도 설문 집단은 부산, 경남 소재의 3, 4년제 대학 유아교육과 재학생 137명이다. Kane과 Trochim이 제시한 개념도 연구절차 6단계를 활용하였으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아영재교육에 대한 최종 진술문은 32개였으며, 개념도는 개인-환경, 영재성 및 개념-필요성 및 인식의 2차원 4개의 범주로 분류되었다. 각 범주에 속하는 군집은 영재의 심리적 특성, 교수학습방법, 영재교육의 정의, 부정적인 시각으로 총 4개의 분류되었다. 둘째, 군집별 중요도는 교수학습방법, 영재교육의 정의, 부정적인 시각, 영재의 심리적 특성 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 유아영재교육에 대한 개념 정립과 교사교육을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the perceptions of pre-service early childhood teachers regarding educating gifted young children using concept mapping. The following questions were explored in this study: 1. What is the concept map of perceptions of pre-service early childhood teachers about educating gifted young children? 2. How important is the education of gifted young children according to pre-service early childhood teachers? Participants included 43 pre-service early childhood teachers at the brainstorming stage, to gather the possible related statements. Finally, 32 statements were identified, and these were divided and evaluated by 18 pre-service early childhood teachers in a focus group. Subsequently, 137 pre-service early childhood teachers checked the degree of importance of each statement using a 5-point Likert scale. Finally, the statements were analyzed using multidimensional scaling and a hierarchical cluster analysis. The results showed the following conceptual structures. First, the participants perceived the “individual environment” and “the concept of giftedness, and its necessity and recognition” dimensions as separate entities. The participants’ perceptions regarding the education of gifted young included the following four clusters, ranked in a descending order of importance: “teaching-learning method,” “definition of gifted education,” “negative viewpoint,” and “psychological characteristics of gifted children.” Implications of the present results for pre-service early childhood teacher education are discussed.
