국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 고정식 교정장치 부착 환자에서 음파잇솔질과 수동잇솔질의 치면세균막 제거능력을 비교, 평가하여 교정치료시 지속적이고 효과적인 구강위생 관리 방법을 제시하고자 하는데 있다. 비발치 환자로 상,하악 제 2대구치까지 고정식 교정장치를 부착한 청소년기 아동(남자 22명, 여자 37명)과 성인(남자 15명, 여자 45명)을 대상으로 하여 각각을 수동잇솔질과 음파잇솔질 군으로 분류하였다. 음파칫솔질은 Philips oral healthcare HX-4401을 사용하였으며 잇솔질 시간은 음파, 수동 모두 2분으로 표준화시켰다. 잇솔질 후 치면세균막 지수는 Wilkins의 PHP를 변형시켜 측정하였다. 각 군의 치면세균막 지수를 측정하여 비교한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 청소년, 성인 모두에서 음파잇솔군의 치면세군막지수 감소효과가 수동잇솔근에 비해 유의하게 크게 나타났다(청소년 : p<0.01 성인 : p<0.05). 2. 청소년과 성인을 구분하여 치면세균막지수 감소양상을 비교하였을 때 청소년에서 더 큰 감소 효과를 보였다 (p<0.01). 3. 같은 칫솔종류를 사용할 경우 청소년, 성인간에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to evaluate and compare the plaque removal ability of sonic brushing and manual brushing in order to present a method for continuous and effective oral hygiene control during orthodontic treatment. Nonextracted adolescent patients (male : 23 persons, female : 37 persons) and adult patients (male : 15 persons, female 45 persons) outfitted with a fixed orthodontic appliance from their incisors to second molar, in both the maxilla and mandible, were divided into manual brushing and sonic brushing groups. A Philips oral healthcare HX-4401 sonic toothbrush was used, and the application of brushing for the two groups was standardized at two minutes. After brushing, the plaque score was measured with a modified Wilkin´s PHP. The following results were achieved after comparing each group´s plaque score. 1.
