미술치료에서 별 상징 활용과 의미

국문 초록

연구는 미술치료에서 별의 상징성과 의미적 관계를 통해 별 상징의 활용을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 만 8세에서 만 15세의 심리치료 내담자 11인으로, 2010년 3월 1일부터 6월 30일까지 심리치료 회기 중에 자발적으로 별의 상징을 활용한 내담자이다. 수집된 대상들은 1차선별로 일반적인 지능인 대상, 2차선별로는 자기불일치가 5점 중 4점 이상인 대상들로, 50회기 이내로 주호소문제가 소거되어 종결이 되었다. 또한 심리치료는 미술치료사인 연구자를 포함한 임상경험이 3년 이상인 심리치료 전문가 3인으로 각각 미술치료사와 놀이치료사로 구성되었다. 연구대상 선별부터 별의 상징의 활용과 의미 분석은 충분한 회의를 거쳐 논의한 결과로 회기 중 별 상징에 관련된 내담자들의 완성한 작품과 언어적인 표현을 질적 분석했다. 분석결과, 별 상징의 활용 경향은 한 활동에 국한되기보다 심리치료 전 과정에서 나타났으며, 그 의미는 회기가 진행됨에 따라 변화하였다. 특히, 별의 상징의 의미는 잃어버린 자기를 찾기 위한 개성화과정으로 별의 상징을 활용하고, 상실과 좌절을 겪은 내담자들은 심리치료 과정에서 특별하고 싶거나, 애정 받고 싶은 욕구, 회복하고 싶은 욕구, 자기를 보호하고 싶은 욕구 등과 같은 소망이 희망과 존재 가치감, 자기만족 등으로 변화하였고, 또한 자기불일치가 심했던 내담자들은 자발적인 별의 활용으로 이상자기와 현실자기에 대한 중재를 함께 이루었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the utilization of star symbols through the symbolism of stars and their meaning relationships in art therapy. The subjects include 11 clients of psychotherapy aged from 8 to 15 who voluntarily used star symbols during a session from March 1 to June 30, 2010. They were first screened according to general intelligence and secondly screened based on the criterion of four points out of five self-discrepancy points. The 50th sessions marked the end of the therapy as the clients\' main problems were resolved. Psychotherapy was given by three art therapists and play therapists who had three years or more of clinical experiences and were experts on psychotherapy including the investigator who was an art therapist. They went through enough discussions to screen the subjects and analyze the uses and meanings of star symbols and made qualitative analysis of the clients\' finished works regarding star symbols and verbal expressions during the sessions. As the result of analysis, the clients utilized star symbols throughout the entire therapeutic processes rather than limiting them to certain activities. Their meanings also changed with each session. In addition to the common aesthetic elements of star symbols and their general meanings such as wish, yearning, loss, and frustration, the clients used them as a process of finding a lost self. Having experienced loss and frustration, the clients changed their desire to be special in the therapeutic process, to be loved, to recover, and to protect themselves into hope, value of being, and self-satisfaction. Those who demonstrated huge self-discrepancy found mediation between them by voluntarily utilizing stars in the therapeutic process.
