앙리 마티스의 회화에 나타난 색채심리 특성

국문 초록

본 연구의 필요성과 목적은 앙리 마티스의 각 시대별 회화에 나타난 색채의 특징과 심리를 분석하여 색채를 통해 표출된 정서적 심리를 연구해봄으로써 색채심리가 인간의 내면세계를 보다 잘 이해하는 한 분야의 방법론으로서 인간의 심리적 갈등의 표출과 극복에 어떻게 기여하는가를 알아보는 데 있다. 마티스 회화의 각 시대별 주요특성이 나타난 작품에 대해 Suenaga Heart & Color Method를 이용하여 작품에 투영된 색채심리를 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초기모방시기에는 각형Chart의 B-Quiet 톤의 저명도 색조에서 B-Pastel 톤의 고명도 색조로 구심적 심리의 성숙된 분위기와 억압된 정서를 나타낸다. 둘째, 야수주의 시기에는 톤 Chart의 Vivid와 B-Pastel, Mild 톤의 상승된 감정으로 역동적 해방감의 심리이다. 셋째, 실험시기에는 각형Chart에서 고채도의 Smoky 톤은 구심적 심리의 고명도와 저명도군의 두 가지 양상으로, 암울한 정서와 전쟁이 끝난 후 활성화된 심리가 보인다. 넷째, 니스의 시기에는 각형Chart의 Pastel 톤과 Vivid 톤으로 내면의 희망과 안정의 욕구를 나타낸다. 다섯째, 회화내용의 변형 시기에는 톤 Chart의 Basic 채도로서 풍부한 감성과 온화한 정신세계를 보이며 이완된 정서와 치유적인 색채로서 표현되었다. 여섯째, 색종이 시기에는 톤의 심리를 중심으로 고명도, 고채도의 정신적인 해방감과 죽음에 대한 두려움의 심리가 색채로 표현되었다.

영문 초록

This study looked at color psychology in Henri Martisse\'s paintings in the different periods of his painting career in an attempt to see how color psychology as a way to gain insight into the human mind could play into the display and overcome of psychological conflicts. Color psychology in Martisse\'s paintings representing each period of his painting career was analyzed with Suenaga Heart & Color Method. First, in the early Imitation period, B-Quiet tone low in brightness and B-Pastel tone high in brightness on the Suenaga method Heart & Color chart 1 conveyed a mature atmosphere of centripetal psychology and a sense of oppressed emotions. Second, in the Fauvist period, tones such as Vivid, B-Pastel, and Mild on Suenaga method Heart & Color chart 3 conveyed uplifted feelings and a dynamic sense of freedom. Third, in the Experiment period, high saturated Smoky tone on Suenaga method Heart & Color chart 1 appeared both in high and low brightness, displaying the painter\'s gloomy sentiment and stimulated emotions after war. Fourth in the Nis period, tones such as Pastel and Vivid on Suenaga method Heart & Color chart 1 expressed a inner sense of hope and longing for stability. Fifth, in the Change of Painting Objects period, healing colors with saturation level Basic on Suenaga method Heart & Color chart 3 displayed rich emotions and gentleness in the painter\'s psyche. Sixth, in the Colored Paper period, a sense of freedom and a fear of death were expressed with colors in high brightness and high saturation.
