중등 교사가 인식한 현재 교실의 문제점과 미래 교실에 대한 기대에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 미래 교실을 구축하기 위해 교실의 사용자인 교사가 느끼는 현재 교실의 문제점과 미래에 구축되기를 기대하는 교실의 모습을 확인하고자 하였다. 이 연구목적을 위해, 교실 환경에 관한 선행연구와 학습공간에 관한 발전 동향, 그리고 미래 교실 구축 사례 등에 대한 검토를 바탕으로 구조화된 설문 도구가 작성되었으며, 277명의 교사를 대상으로 실시되었다. 수집된 자료는 Nvivo8을 이용하여 내용분석 기법에 의해 분석되었다. 자료를 분석한 결과, 첫째, 현재 교실의 가장 큰 문제점은 책걸상, 멀티미디어 시설, 칠판(분필), 멀티미디어시설유지보수, 학생사물함 등의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 미래에 기대되는 교실 환경으로는 멀티미디어 시설, 전자칠판, 책걸상, 학생용 컴퓨터, 교과전용교실, 학생사물함 등의 순으로 언급되었다. 셋째, 교사의 현재 교실 문제점과 미래에 대한 기대를 비교한 결과 둘 사이에 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 교실 공간을 효과적으로 설계하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 그 속에서 살고 있는 사용자의 요구와 기대를 중심에 두어야 하고, 이러한 요구와 기대를 충족시키려면 공학적 매체와 더불어 교실의 기본적인 요소를 개선해야 한다는 시사점이 도출되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to find problems of the current classroom and expectations in the future classroom perceived by teachers in secondary education. In order to achieve the purpose, various prior studies on classroom environments and learning spaces have been reviewed, cases of classroom of futures were explored, and a survey was administered to 277 teachers. The results collected were analyzed by the content analysis method via Nvivo 8.0. Based on the analysis of the results, the followings were concluded. First, it was found that the problems teachers perceived most were lack of multimedia and their maintenance, improper students desks and chairs, blackboard and chalk, lack of student's lockers, small classroom space, and no air conditioning system. Secondly, teachers expected that the future classroom would have better and more multimedia, electronic board, new desks and chairs, student computers, subject matter classroom, better cleaning systems, and better air conditioning. Thirdly, comparing the problems and the expectations, it was found that the problems perceived by teachers and their expectations for the future classroom were closely related to each other. In addition, multimedia was perceived most as a problem and expected to be improved most in the future, along with the desks and chairs, and student computers. Based on the these results, it was assumed that we need to build the future classroom not by focusing on integration of new technology into classroom, but by considering users's needs and expectations. In order to design an effective classroom space, we need to consider first needs and expectations of the teachers who live there, then search technological media to fulfill the needs and expectations.
