장애인 ‘짝지’에 관한 초등학생의 메타포(metaphor) 분석

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 효과적인 통합교육의 실현을 위해 가장 중요한 요소인 비장애학생들의 장애학생에 대한 인식을 보다 깊이 있게 탐구하기 위하여 초등학교 5~6학년생의 장애인 ‘짝지’에 대한 인식을 메타포 분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구방법: 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 부산광역시 북부, 서부, 남부, 동래구, 해운대구에 위치한 5개 초등학교에 재학 중인 5~6학년생을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 은유적인 표현(메타포)과 그에 따른 근거를 제시하도록 하였다. 연구결과: 초등학생들의 장애인 ‘짝지’에 관한 총 357개의 메타포를 수집하여 주제별로 범주화한 결과, ‘함께 걸어가는 우리’, ‘더 나은 나로의 발전’, ‘감당하기 어려운 부담’, ‘새로운 세계로의 도전’, ‘바로 옆의 타인’의 5가지 주제가 도출되었다. 또한 장애인 ‘짝지’에 관한 초등학생들의 인식은 통합교육 경험의 유무에 따라 차이를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구를 통해 초등학생들 스스로 장애인 ‘짝지’에 대한 자신의 인식을 돌아볼 수 있는 기회를 가짐과 동시에 초등학생들의 다양한 메타포를 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 물리적인 통합에서 더 나아가 완전한 통합교육의 실현을 위한 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of the classmates with disabilities in 5th and 6th grade of elementary school students through metaphor analysis in order to explore the perception of students with disabilities as the most important factor for effective integration education. Method: In order to carry out this research, 5th and 6th grade students attending 5 elementary schools located in Busan, West, South, Dongraegu and Haeundaegu were selected as study subjects and metaphorical expression (metaphor) and grounds were suggested. Results: As a result of categorizing 357 metaphors related to the ‘classmates’ with disabilities, it was found that there were 5 ‘We are walking together’, ‘The evolution of better me’, ‘Challenges to a new world’, and ‘The other side strangers’. In addition, the perception of elementary school students about the classmates with disabilities was found to vary according to the presence of integrated education experience. Conclusion: Through this study, elementary school students had an opportunity to reflect on their own perception of the classmates with disabilities, and at the same time, various metaphor of elementary school students were identified. This provides implications for physical integration and for the realization of complete integrated education.
