국문 초록

본 연구는 음악극 창작 활동이 다문화가정 아동의 자기표현력과 사회성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 본 연구의 참여자는 다문화가정 아동 22명으로 이들은 실험집단과 통제집단에 11명 씩 무선 배치되었다. 실험집단을 위한 음악극 창작 활동은 회기 당 30분씩 주 2회, 총 14회기에 걸쳐 진행되었고 통제집단에는 아무런 처치를 제공하지 않았다. 대상자들은 사전-사후 검사를 위해 프로그램 시행 전ž후에 자기표현 평정척도와 사회성 척도를 작성하였고, 자료의 분석을 위해 Mann-Whitney 검정이 사용되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악극 창작 활동에 참여한 실험집단이 통제집단보다 자기표현력에서 유의미하게 향상되었다. 자기표현력 하위 요인인 내용적, 음성적, 비언어적 요소의 분석 결과를 살펴보면 내용적 요소와 음성적 요소에서는 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 유의미하게 향상된 변화를 보였으나, 비언어적 요소에서는 사전 점수에 비해 사후 점수가 소폭 증가함에도 불구하고 통계적으로 유의미한 결과는 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 음악극 창작 활동에 참여한 실험집단이 통제집단보다 사회성 점수에서 유의미하게 향상되었다. 사회성 하위 요인인 사교성과 협동성의 분석 결과를 살펴보면 두 가지 요인 모두 유 의미하게 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 음악극 창작 활동이 다문화가정 아동의 자기표현력과 사회성 향상에 효과적인 중재 도구임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of creating music drama in music therapy settings on improving self-expression and social skills of children from multi-cultural families. The participants in this study consisted of 22 children from multi-cultural families, and 11 participants were randomly assigned to the experimental group, then the other 11 to the control group. The experimental group participated in the activities to create music drama twice a week, 14 sessions in total, and 30 minutes in each. The control group had no music therapy services. Both group members answered the questionnaires of self-expression and social skills before and after the program, and Mann-Whitney scale was used for data analysis. Results first showed that the experimental group significantly improved self-expression scores compared to the control group. Specifically, they showed significant increases for content and phonetic factors in self-expression. However, there was no significant difference between two groups in non-verbal factor, although the average score of non-verbal factors slightly increased from pre to post test in the experimental group. Secondly, the experimental group showed significant increases in sociality scale, specifically for sociability and cooperativity factors. The results suggest that creating music drama would be an effective intervention in music therapy settings to improve self-expression and social skills of children from multi-cultural families.
