영문 초록

This study was performed in order to calculate the fractal(correlation) dimension of the electroencephalogram of normal human based on the chaos theory including nonlinear dynamics which is expected to be applicated in the psychiatric fields in various ways. We obtained the EEG signal of 4 channels(F3，F4, C3, C4) which were digitized with 250 Hz frequency during 20 seconds in 3 different states(eye-opened, eye-closed, and eye-closed hearing click sound). Fractal (correlation) dimension was calculated with personal computer according to Grassberger-Procaccia algorism. The results’ were as follows : 1) eys-closed and relaxed states were higher dimension than the state of eye-closed and hearing click sound in all channels. 2) In the frontal area of scalp, eye-closed state was higher than eye-opened state but in the central area of scalp, the result was reversed. 3) In the click sound free state, left hemisphere was higher dimension than right but this difference was disappeared by click sound. This result revealed that the system we had applied could be extended to study normal cognition and mental illness
