대학전문지 기사에 나타난 대학구조개혁 평가 토픽 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 토픽 분석을 수행하여 대학구조개혁 평가에 대한 대학의 관심과 그 변화 양상을 분석한 것이다. 1주기 대학구조개혁 평가 준비가 구체화된 2013년 8월 13일부터 대학구조개혁 평가 후속 2016년 이행점검이 완료된 2016년 9월 15일까지, 대학구조개혁 평가를 다룬 세 종류의 대학전문지,‘한국대학신문’,‘교수신문’,‘대학저널’의 기사 511개를 수집하여 잠재디리클레 할당(LDA) 알고리즘 기반의 토픽모델링(topic modeling) 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 대학구조개혁 평가 결과 발표 이전에는 관련 기사가 많지 않았다가 결과발표 전후에는 대학구조개혁 평가 방식 및 결과, 대학상황의 특징 및 대학 변화와 관련된 토픽들이 주로 나타났고 시간이 흐름에 따라 평가 관련 논란과 대학 홍보 관련토픽이 증가하는 양상이 나타났다. 종합하면, 대학전문지 기사에 나타난 대학의 관심은 대학구조개혁 평가의 필요성을 포함하고 있지만 부정적인 우려나 혼란 상황에 대한 논의가 많았고 대학 홍보나 대학의 발전에 대한 논의로 확대 발전하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 대학구조개혁 평가의 주요 이해 주체인 대학의 관심과 논의 양상을 자동화된 텍스트 분석 기법을 활용하여 거시 적으로 정리, 종합하였다는 점에 의의가 있으며, 대용량 텍스트 데이터를 자동화된 기법을 적용하여 분석, 활용할 수 있음을 확인한 실제적인 사례로서도 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The study analyzes the university s focus and its changing patterns on the College and University Structural Reform Evaluation(CUSRE). A total of 511 newspaper articles were collected from the three universities specializing journals, namely Korean University Newspaper(University News Network) , Professors Newspaper(Kyosujob) , and “University Journalists(dhnews)”from August 13, 2013 to September 15, 2016 as data, and the topic modeling analysis, especially latent Dirichlet allocation algorithm, was applied on this text data. The analysis results were as follows. First, 24 topics were extracted from universities specializing journal articles, and clustered into 5 topic groups. Second, before the announcement of the results of the CUSRE, there were not many articles related to it. Before and after the announcement, however, there have been a lot of topics of the methods and results of the CUSRE and also the topics related to the university situations and changes were. And then the topics regarding to university publicity and the controversy of the CUSRE have increased. In sum, the university s interest in university journalism reflected the need for the CUSRE, but there are plenty of iscussions about negative concerns or confusion surrounding the university, and expanding into discussions on university publicity or development of universities. This study is meaningful in the fact that the university’s interest has been analyzed by using automated text analytics and synthesized them together.
