교사의 칭찬이 피아노학습자의 연주성취에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 3, 4학년 아동 60명을 대상으로 피아노학습에서 교사가 사용하는 칭찬이 아동의 연주성취에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 실험연구이다. 먼저 실험집단 30명에게 교사의 칭찬 프로그램을 처치한 후에 통제집단과의 연주성취점수를 비교 분석한 후 교사가 사용하는 칭찬방식에 따라 연주성취에 차이가 있는 지를 알아보았다. 연구결과, 교사의 칭찬 프로그램을 처치한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 연주성취능력에서 모두 유의미한 효과가 나타났다(t=4.720, p<.001). 또한, 실험집단 내에서 교사의 칭찬방식에 따른 연주성취의 차이를 일원분산분석(ANOVA) 통계방법을 사용하여 비교 분석해 본 결과, 유의수준 .05에서 교사의 칭찬방식에 따라 연주성취에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다(F=5.55, p<.05). 이러한 결과는 교사의 칭찬이 피아노학습자의 연주성취에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이라는 것을 시사하며, 교사가 사용하는 다양한 칭찬방식에 따라 아동의 연주성취가 다르게 나타날 수 있다는 점에서 효과적인 칭찬방식을 고안하고 강화해야 할 필요가 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 앞으로의 연구에서는 피아노학습자들이 선호하는 칭찬의 방법을 학습과정에 적용해 보는 기회를 제공할 수 있는 참신한 교육 프로그램의 개발이 필요하겠다.

영문 초록

This study is an experimental research to investigate an effect of teacher s use of praise to elementary school students in piano lesson. This study analyzed whether a teacher s praise has an effect on a piano learner s performance achievement and whether the method of praise which a teacher employs makes a difference to a learner s performance achievement. This study divided 60 students into 30 students of a control group and 30 students of an experimental group and verified the effect of teacher s praise by carrying out the tests of music performance after treating teacher s praise program to the experimental group. The research outcome shows that experimental group which was treated with the praise program showed significant effect on performance achievement competence. Therefore, teacher s praise program that this study used has a positive influence on the improvement of learner s piano performance competence. It means that teacher s praise is an important factor which affects piano learners performance achievement. This outcome suggests that a learner s performance achievement may vary depending on the various methods of teacher s praise, therefore, there is a need to work out and enhance a way to find an effective method of praise. A further study should be focused on investigating which method of praise piano learners prefer and developing a program that can be apply to a learning process.
