중등 음악 감상 교육의 실태 분석

국문 초록

음악과 교육과정에서는 음악의 요소 및 개념을 파악하고 악곡의 특징을 이해하도록 하는 감상활동을 강조하고 있다. 그러나 실제 중등학교 현장의 음악 감상 수업에서는 음악의 요소 및 개념을 파악하는 활동 보다는 감상곡의 작곡시대와 작곡가에 대한 교과서 해설을 바탕으로 악곡을 감상한 후 개인의 느낌을 말해보는 추상적인 활동이 주를 이루고 있는 것이 사실이다. 이로 인해 학습자는 악곡의 음악적 특징을 파악하기 어려우며 실제로 악곡의 감상방법을 체득하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 학교의 음악 감상 수업의 실태와 의견에 대해 설문조사를 실시하였고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 논의를 통해 효과적인 음악 감상 교육을 위한 방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악 요소에 대한 학습과 서양음악사 및 작곡가에 관한 학습이 균형 있게 이루어질 수 있도록 교과서에서 제시하는 감상 악곡의 종류와 내용이 개선될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 교과서의 감상 악곡은 학생들의 흥미 유발과 교사의 교육 활동에 수월한 진행을 위해 방대한 규모의 악곡 보다는 소규모의 악곡으로 선정하여 구성할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 현행 감상 교육의 문제점을 음악 교사 스스로가 인식하여 개선 의지를 보이는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하며, 이를 위한 다양한 연수와 지원을 제공할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 교사들의 감상 수업 방법 개선을 위해 교수․학습 자료와 교수 방법을 개발하여 제시하고, 다양한 커뮤니티를 통해 공유할 수 있는 장을 마련해 줄 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The music curriculum emphasizes the comprehension of music elements and concepts and the understanding of musical pieces characteristics. However, in the music appreciation class of the secondary school sites, instead of comprehending music elements and concepts, students mostly appreciate musical pieces based on textbooks explanations about the musical pieces era and the composers, and then they tell their impression, which is rather abstract activities. Therefore, it is difficult for students to understand musical characteristics, and actually they can t acquire the method of appreciating musical pieces. This study did survey about the current situation of music appreciation class and opinions, and then the result was analyzed. The methods for effective music appreciation education through the discussion on the analysis result are presented as follows. First, the types and contents of appreciated musical pieces presented in the textbooks should be improved, so that learning music elements, western music history and composers can be balanced. Second, musical pieces presented in textbooks should be small scale rather than vast scope, so that students can have interest and teachers can progress class smoothly. Third, music teachers should recognize the problems of current music appreciation education on their own, and various training and aid programs should be accompanied. Fourth, teaching and learning materials and teaching methods should be developed and presented to improve teachers music appreciation class methods, and various communities where teachers can share their methods should be provided.
