국문 초록

본 논문은 모래상자치료에서 앵무새의 상징에 관한 연구이다. Jung은 무의식은 상징을 만들고 의식의 세계가 삶의 무의식적 요소들을 깨닫지 못했을 때 상을 통해서 개인적 의미를 전달하려고 노력한다고 말하고 있다. 내담자가 모래상자치료에서 사용하는 피겨들은 개인의 심상의 표현을 활성화하고 개 인의 성장과 변화의 요구에 따라 독특한 상징적 표현들을 만들어낸다. 상은 원형적 상과 관련되고 의식이 원형으로부터 상징적 상의 의미를 알아내고 자아를 통합하려고 할 때 지속적인 변환이 일 어날 것이다. 본 연구는 모래상자에 나타난 앵무새의 상징적의미를 탐색하였다. 앵무새는 매카우와 코카투스처럼 잘 알려진 앵무새들은 땅딸막하고 짧은 꼬리를 가진 큰 새라고 한다. 앵무새는 사람 의 목소리를 모방하는 능력이 있다. 사람과 앵무새의 만남은 수세기에 걸친 친교관계가 그 종의 멸종의 원인을 초래할 수 있을 만큼 만족할 줄 모르는 열정을 주었다. 앵무새의 깃털은 장식과 의 식에 사용되었고 특히 헤어스타일은 매우 오랫동안 널리 특히 적도의 인디언부족과 열대 아메리카 의 지역주민들 사이에서 유행하였다. 나무 꼭대기나 가파른 경사의 암벽에 둥지를 트는 천상의 빨 간 깃털의 아바타로 여겨진 알타는 태양의 상징이었다. 또한 앵무새는 북미 인디언의 토템 숭배대 상이었고 지혜의 동물(진실, 성찰, 사고능력), 마법의 동물(말을 따라하고, 태도표명, 마법), 영적 이고 매혹적인 아름다운(우아한 아름다움, 불가사의함) 동물이었다. 앵무새 상징의 다양한 의미와 함께 치료자들은 모래상자 안에서 표현되는 앵무새를 이해할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과들에 의하면 앵무새는 가족 같은 동물이며, 삶의 아름다움과 동반자로 나타났다. 다시 말해서 이러한 특성들은 내담자의 치유와 긍정적 성장에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This study reviewed the symbols of parrot in sand tray therapy by literature. Jung states that the unconscious creates a symbol, which then tries to convey meaning to the individual through images when the consciousness ignores the unconscious elements of life. Figures that a client uses in sand tray therapy enable the individual to activate the expression of imagery and to thereby produce unique symbolic representations according to the individual s needs as the growing and change. Because the image is related to an archetypical image, ongoing transformation may arise when the consciousness attempts to correctly interpret the meaning of the symbolic image from an archetype and to integrate it into the ego. This study explored the symbolic meanings of parrots as they appeared in the sand trays. The biological characteristics of parrots indicate that they are large birds, usually stocky and short tail, as well as macaws and cockatoos. The parrot has an ability to imitate the human voice. The meeting of Man and the parrot gave birth to an insatiable passion, which has grown over the centuries to bring about a rapprochement with some species sometimes causing their loss. The decorative and ritual use of Parrot s feathers for the realization of ornaments and especially of hair style is very old and widespread among the indigenous populations, especially among the Indian tribes of equatorial and tropical America. The Altar which makes its nest at the top of the trees or steep rocks, is considered an avatar of the celestial red feathers are solar symbols. Also, parrot are totem powers, animal wisdom (truth, reflection, power of thought), animal magic (spell work, manifestation, incantation), spiritual, exotic beauty (adorned in elegance, enveloped in mystery). With knowledge of such varied meanings of the parrot symbol, the therapist was able to understand what the parrot in the sand trays represented. According to our results, parrot represent a family animal, the beauty of life and a companion. It is expected that in turn this maybe assist in the client s healing and positive growth.
