영문 초록

In order to assess the Bender-Gestalt test of the schizophrenics in Korea, the author administered the Hutt adaptation of the Bender-Gestalt test to 64 cases of schizophrenia who were admitted to the National Mental Hospital in Seoul during the period from Aug. 1979 to Feb. 1980 and to 60 cases of normal person as a control group. As a scoring system, the author adopted Hutt’s Psychopathology Scale and Adience-Abience Scale. The following results were obtained from the study. 1. Schizophrenics showed a significantly higher average score (68.12) on the Psychopathology Scale compared with that (40.05) of the control group. 2. On the Psychopathology Scale, there were highly significant differences (p<0.001) between the two groups in items of sequence, use of space: 1, closure difficulty, curvature difficulty, change in angulation, retrogression, overlapping difficulty, elaboration and perseveration. 3. Schizophrenics showed a significantly lower average score (22.9) on the Adience-Abience Scale compared with that (30.6) of the control group. 4. On the Adience-Abience Scale, there were highly significant differences (p<0.001) between the two groups in items of height and width, use of page, change in angulation and elaboration. 5. From the results obtained in this study, it was suggested that the Psychopathology Scale and Adience-Abience Scale of Hutt adaptation of the Bender-Gestalt test are clinically useful in evaluating psychopathology and personality stru cture in schizophrenia
