영문 초록

The author surveyed and analyzed 171 juvenile delinquents in a juvenile corrective institution, in order to form ulate counterm easures for prevention of adolescence delinquency and to take preliminary data about this field from May, 1979 to Sept., 1979. Followings are results of th is survey ： 1. Types of the crim es they had com mitted, in order of frequency w ere stealing (46.8%), violence (35.7% ), b u rg lary th e ft (13.5%), rape (1. 8% ), cheating (l.296)t robbery (0. 6%) and arson (0. 6% ). 2. Most of the boys in th e institution w ere 17 or 18 years old and th e ir firs t offence h ad occurred a t the age of 17 mostly. 3. More boys were dropped out (52.2%) th a n those who were in school or those who finished the school. Most of th e m (70.196) were from th e poor families and 33. 396 of them w ere factory w orkers and 24.6% of them were th e unemployed. 4. Most of them grew up in the cities and the offences took place in dwelling areas, in the streat, am usem ent places and m arkets in cities. When they were caught 51.3% of them had no places in. 5. The offences took place more frequently in spring and winther th an in summer or autumn. In stealing cases, h ab itu al stealing w as frequently observed (53.4%), and accidental violatation were observed more frequently in violent cases (72.1%). 6. Criminality is little connected with drinking. And most of the stealings were single-handed but in most cases, violence committed with accomplices. 7. The incidence of tattoo was 32.2%. 8. Among the various contents of tattoos, letters (42. Z%) were the most frequently seen and as to the site of tattoo, the left arm (53. 5%) was the favorite Motivations of tattoo were curiosity 61.8%) and coercion (20.0%) mostly.
