영문 초록

The author studied the effects of diazepam on memory and psychomotor performance in 19 health y male student volunteers. The subjects were divided into two groups; the experimental group of ten subjects and th e control group of nine subjects. Fifteen m g of diazepam was administered orally to the experimental subjects and each 5cc of venous blood w as sam pled consecutively a t 15 m inutes, 30 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes after drug administration. The serum level was measured by enzyme multiplied immunological technique (EMIT). For the control group, placebo was given orally. Memory function and psychom otor performance of both the experim ental and control groups were tested just before, at 15minutes, 30minutes, 90minutes and 120 minutes after drug administration. The tools used for evaluation of memory function and psychom otor performance were memory cards which were word stimuli prepared by the author and digit-symbol substitution of Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale. The results of the study were as follows: 1. In the experim ental group, mean serum level were 0 .1 ± 0.4 //g /m l a t 15 m inutes, 0.1 4 ± 0.08 ug /ml at 30 minutes, 0.36 ± 0 .1 9 /ig /ml at 90 minutes and 0.37 ± 0 .1 4 서gm l a t 120 m inutes after oral administration of diazepam 15mg. 2. In the control group, no significant chronological change was statistically noticed in the memory function and psychomotor perfor-mance. 3. The degree of memory impairm ent was increased as time passed until 120 minutes in the experimental group. Memory function showed reversed correlation to the serum diazepam level ( r = —0.5116). Memory impairment was more prominent in the subjects with higher serum level. 4. The impairment of psychom otor perform ance was increased as time passed until 120minutes in the experimental group. Serum diazepam level and psychom otor performance showed reversed correlation ( r = 一0.5070). The psychom otor performance was impaired more profoundly in the subjects with higher serum level.
