영문 초록

Taking the poetry on historical themes which men of letters from Korea and China wrote in Linzi in Shandong Province during the period of the Ming dynasty, this study aims to shed light on its characteristics with a focus on thoughts and artistic distinctions by making a comparative review on the different aspects of the poems that were written on the same historical events or figures by the contemporary Korean and Chinese men of letters who came from different cultural backgrounds. As a major literary genre for the gentry, the poetry on historical themes represents the historical view and values of the traditional intellectuals. Therefore, I think that a comparative analysis of the poems that the men of letters from both countries wrote on the same subject matter in the dame time period is meaningful to grasp the differences in poetic creation, mental topography, and cultural beliefs
