국문 초록

예이츠의 “비잔티움의 항해”와 “비잔티움”은 전체적인 관점에서 통합정신이 정신이 깔려 있다. “비잔티움의 항해”는 정형화된 영혼정화의 과정이 그려져 있고, 갈등의 부분은 다소 모호한 방식으로 드러나 있다. 이에 비해 비잔티움은 계속적인 갈등의 상황으로 시를 마무리 한다. 두 시에서 갈등의 상황이 포착되나, 이러한 갈등은 예이츠의 통합의 정신에 이르기 위한 조건들이다. 결국에 예이츠는 두 시의 갈등의 상황을 통해서 통합의 정신을 이루어 나아가고 있다.

영문 초록

Yeats’s two Byzantium poems, “Sailing to Byzantium” and “Byzantium,” demonstrates the Yeatsian unity: “Sailing to Byzantium” portrays the process of fixed purgation and its struggle in a more obscure way than “Byzantium.” “Byzantium” describes the state of a constant struggle. The Yeatsian unity in these poems is achieved by way of the process of struggle.
