월북·망명음악가 정추의 노래집 : 『젊은이의 노래』(1970)에 나타난 디아스포라 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서 다룰 정추는 1923년 광주 출생으로 1942년 도쿄니혼대학에서 유학했고, 1946년 유명한 영화감독이었던 큰 형 정준채를 찾아 월북한 후, 북한정부의 제7기 소련 유학생으로 모스크바에서 작곡을 전공하였고, 졸업 후 1958년 ‘모스크바 8진’과 함께 김일성독재에 반대하여 소련 망명을 선택한 망명음악가이다. 월북과 망명으로 그의 이름은 남한과 북한의 현대음악사에서 사라졌다. 본 논문에서는 디아스포라 작곡가 정추가 1970년 알마티에서 출판한 성악곡집 『젊은이의 노래』를 통해 음악적 디아스포라의 흔적을 탐구하고자 한다. 노래의 제목, 작사가, 가사, 음악적 형상화의 분석을 통해 『젊은이의 노래』가 암시하는 변화된 새 고향, 새 조국, 역동성의 미학 등에 대해 토론할 것이다.

영문 초록

Cheong Chu was born in Gwangju in 1923, studied music at Tokyo Nihon University in 1942 and defected to Pyoengyang in 1946 to go to his older brother Cheong Jun-chae, a famous film director. Cheong Chu was a musician who majored in composition in Moscow as one of the 7th batch of North Korean government students studying abroad in the Soviet Union. He disappeared from the history of modern music in South Korea due to his defection. In 1958, he chose to exile to the Soviet Union with “the Moscow Eight”, a group of North Korean students who studied at the Moscow Film School, in opposition to the Kim Il-sung dictatorship. Therefore, Cheung Chu’s name disappeared also in the history of modern North Korean music. In this paper, I’ll explore the traces of musical diaspora through the vocal music collection 『Songs of Youth』 published 1970 in Almaty by the composer Cheong Chu. Through analysis of the song titles, lyricists, lyrics, and musical imagery, I’ll discuss some changes in terms of new hometown, new fatherland, and aesthetic of youth dynamics that this songbook implies.
