생성형 AI 도구를 활용한 학술 글쓰기와 윤리 가이드라인에 관한 탐색 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 생성형 AI가 학술 연구 및 논문 작성 과정에 미치는 변혁적 영향을 탐구하고, 이를 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 논문 작성 전략 및 윤리적 접근 방안을 제안하는 데 있다. 생성형 AI는 데이터 분석, 아이디어 생성, 텍스트 작성 및 검토 등의 과정에서 연구 생산성을 혁신적으로 향상시키는 도구로 자리 잡고 있다. 연구 방법은 국내외에서 학술적 글쓰기에 활용되는 Scispace, Scite, Paperpal, QuillBot, Semantic Scholar, Elicit, Consensus, DBpia, Perplexity, Liner 등 총 10개의 생성형 AI 도구를 직접 사용하여 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 생성형 AI가 문헌 검토, 데이터 분석, 텍스트 작성 등 연구 전 과정에 걸쳐 구체적으로 어떤 방식으로 활용될 수 있는지와 관련된 문헌을 심층적으로 검토하였다. 연구 결과, 생성형 AI는 논문의 초기 단계에서 문헌 검토, 주제 탐구 및 데이터 분석을 용이하게 하며, 텍스트 생성 및 편집을 통해 연구의 효율성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 생성형 도구는 편향성(bias), 잘못된 정보 생성(hallucination)과 같은 윤리적 위험 요소를 내포하고 있어, 이를 활용한 결과물에 대한 학문적 신뢰성을 유지하기 위한 철저한 검토가 필요함을 발견하였다. 또한, 생성형 AI 사용자는 생성형 도구의 보조적 역할을 명확히 하고, 창의적이고 비판적인 사고를 통해 논문의 전개와 윤리적 책임을 유지해야 할 필요성이 있다는 점도 확인하였다. 결론적으로, 이 연구는 생성형 인공지능 사용의 필요성을 제시하며, 학술적 투명성과 신뢰성을 증진하기 위한 윤리적 가이드라인 수립의 핵심 고려사항을 도출하였다. 후속 연구로서, 생성형 인공지능의 기술적 한계를 보완하고 각 학문 분야에서의 구체적인 활용 사례를 분석하는 방향을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the transformative impact of generative AI on academic research and the process of writing papers, and to propose strategies and ethical approaches for effectively utilizing it. Generative AI is establishing itself as a tool that revolutionarily enhances research productivity in processes such as data analysis, idea generation, text writing, and review. The research method involved directly using and comparing a total of 10 generative AI tools, including Scispace, Scite, Paperpal, QuillBot, Semantic Scholar, Elicit, Consensus, DBpia, Perplexity, and Liner, which are utilized for academic writing both domestically and internationally. Additionally, this study conducted an in-depth review of the literature on how generative AI can be specifically utilized throughout the entire research process, including literature review, data analysis, and text writing. The research results indicated that generative AI can facilitate literature review, topic exploration, and data analysis in the early stages of a paper, and enhance research efficiency through text generation and editing. However, generative AI tools contain ethical risk factors such as bias and hallucination, necessitating thorough review to maintain academic credibility of the results produced using them. Additionally, it was confirmed that users of generative AI need to clearly define the supportive role of generative tools and maintain the development of their papers and ethical responsibilities through creative and critical thinking. In conclusion, this study presents the necessity of using generative AI and identifies key considerations for establishing ethical guidelines to enhance academic transparency and reliability. As a follow-up study, it was suggested to address the technical limitations of generative AI and analyze specific use cases in each academic field.
