정규교육과정과 연계되어 운영되는 비교과교육과정은 수업에서 배우는 추상적인 지식을 구체적이고 실제적인 경험과 연계하여 학생들의 역량 함양에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 최근 그 중요성이 점차 강조되고 있다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구는 정규교육과정과 연계하여 비교과교육과정을 운영하는 수업이 학생역량과 수업만족도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권 소재 대학에서 비교과교육과정을 연계하여 운영한 교양과 전공 교과목 수강생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 먼저 본 연구에서 분석한 비교과교육과정은 담당 교과목 교수가 직접 개발한 프로그램으로, 교양 및 전공 교과목의 목표와 내용에 맞도록 개발되고 운영되었으나 수업에서의 운영 방식은 서로 달랐다. 즉 교양은 교과 목표 및 내용에 맞는 비교과 프로그램이 운영되기는 하였으나 실제 수업이 아닌 수업 외 시간에 학생 개인이 혼자 수행하는 프로그램으로 운영되었고, 결과물도 과제로 제출되어 학생들 간에 공유되지 않았다. 반면 전공 교과목에서 운영된 비교과 프로그램은 학생들이 수업 시간 외 팀별로 수행한 후 실제 수업에서 그 결과물을 발표하고 피드백을 공유하는 시간을 가지면서 교수와 학생 간, 학생들 간 상호작용이 활발히 이루어지는 방식으로 운영되었다. 교과연계 비교과교육과정 운영 수업으로 학생역량과 수업만족도는 모두 향상되었으며, 특히 수업시간에 모든 학생들이 함께 참여하고 의견을 공유한 전공 교과목에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 역량이 향상되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 대학에서 참여 교과목의 범위나 비교과교육과정의 개발과 운영 주체 등을 다양화하여 비교과교육과정을 확대 운영할 것과 정규교육과정과 비교과교육과정을 좀 더 적극적으로 연계시킬 것, 그리고 교과연계 비교과교육과정을 운영하는 수업의 효율적 운영을 위한 교수 대상의 교육과 지원에 대한 논의가 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Recently, the regular curriculum-linked co-curriculum has been increasingly emphasized as it helps students develop their competencies by linking abstract knowledge learned in class with concrete and practical experiences. The purpose of this study was to analyze how regular curriculum courses integrating co-curriculum affect students’ competencies and overall class satisfaction. To this end, a survey was conducted on students in liberal arts and major courses where the regular curriculum-linked co-curriculum was implemented at universities located in the metropolitan area. First of all, the regular curriculum - linked co-curriculum analyzed in this study was developed and operated by the professor in charge. It was developed and operated in accordance with the goals and content of both liberal arts and major subject, but the method of implementation in the classroom differed. In the case of the liberal arts course, the co-curriculum was conducted as a program carried out by individual students outside of class rather than during class time. The results were submitted as assignments and were not shared among students. On the other hand, in the major course, the co-curriculum was operated with active interaction between professors and students, allowing time for presentations and the sharing of feedback during class. Both students’ competencies and class satisfaction improved as a result of the regular curriculum courses integrating co-curriculum. Notably, a significant difference in students’ competencies was identified in the course where all students participated together, presented, and shared opinions. Based on these research results, this study suggested that universities should diversify the range of subjects involved, expand regular curriculum courses integrating co-curriculum, and operate them in a way that more actively integrates regular curriculum and co-curriculum activities. Additionally, universities should provide education and support for professors to ensure the efficient operation of regular curriculum courses integrating co-curriculum.
