안성 도기동산성의 역사적 의미와 가치

국문 초록

안성 도기동산성은 백제의 수도였던 웅진을 둘러싸고 전방위적인압박을 가하였던 세종 남성골산성과 대전 월평동산성 그리고 충주 고구려비가 있는 국원성 지역을 한강유역의 몽촌토성과 연결할 수 있는지점에 위치한 고구려 성이다. 산성은 해발 78m의 그리 높지 않은 구릉에 입지해 있지만 사방으로 조망권이 확보되어 있으며, 가시권역 분석을 통해 죽산으로 넘어가는 내륙 교통로와 안성천을 따라 형성된평야지역을 잘 관찰할 수 있는 곳에 축조되었음이 확인되었다. 발굴조사가 부분적으로 이루어진 관계로 전체 성의 구조는 아직까지 파악되지 않았다. 그간 조사를 통해 밝혀진 성벽의 축조 공정과 방사성탄소연대 그리고 출토 유물로 보건데, 기본적으로는 4세기대 후반에 백제가 처음 토성으로 쌓은 것을 475년 한성을 점령한 고구려가남진하면서 목책성으로 개축하여 사용한 것으로 판단된다. 다만 성벽의 축성 기법에 대해서는 여전히 논의가 진행 중인데, 특히 목책의 외면을 석축으로 보강한 성벽의 경우에는 연천 무등리2보루의 축성기법과 동일하다는 점에서 부분적으로 석축 성벽을 축성하였거나 혹은 개축하였을 가능성도 무시할 수 없다. 안성 도기동산성은 고구려의 남진 과정과 축성기법을 파악할 수 있는 중요한 유적이라는 점에서 역사적 의미와 가치가 크다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The Dogi-dong Fortress in Anseong is a Koguryo fortress located at the point where it connects Namseonggol Fortress in Sejong, Wolpyeong-dong Fortress in Daejeon, and Gukwon Fortress(國原城), where Chungju Koguryo Monument is located, which applied all-round pressure around Ungjin(熊津), the capital of Baekje, to Mongchon Earthenwall in the Han River basin. Although the fortress is located in a hill that is not very high at 78m above sea level, the view is secured in all directions, and through the analysis of the visible area, the inland traffic route leading to Juksan and the plain area formed along the Anseong Stream can be observed well. The structure of the entire fortress has not yet been identified due to partial excavation, but it is believed that Baekje's first construction as the Earthen-walled fortress in the late 4th century was rebuilt and used as a wooden-fenced fortress by Koguryo, after occupied Hanseong(漢城) in 475. However, the construction method of the fortress wall is still being discussed. In particular, in the case of the wall with the reinforced stone wall, there is a possibility that a stone wall was partially built or rebuilt in that it is the same as the construction method of Mudeung-ri 2nd Fortress in Yeoncheon. The Dogi-dong Fortress in Anseong is of great historical significance and value in that it is an important site that can understand the process of Koguryo's southern advance and construction techniques.
