국문 초록

본 연구는 한국어 중·고급 학습자들이 문화적 보편성과 한국 문화의 특수성이 담긴 한(韓)-콘텐츠를 활용한 언어문화교육에서 목표문화를 문화상대주의적 관점에서 수용하고 재생산하는 양상을 살펴보았다. 그 결과로 다음과 같은 사실을 알게 되었다. 첫째, 문화의 보편성과 한국 문화의 특수성이 담긴 한(韓)-콘텐츠를 언어문화 간 수업에 적용한 결과, 학습자들이 생산한 자료에서 적응 과정과 통합 과정이 모두 나타났다. 이는 교수 내용에 포함된 문화의 성격에 영향을 받기보다는 학습자의 간문화적 능력의 차이에 따라 문화 수용 양상이 다르게 나타남을 의미한다. 둘째, 학습자가 만든 스토리보드에 나타난 통합 과정은 보편적 원형을 사용한 경우와 문화 특수성의 매체를 활용한 경우 모두 같은 양상을 보였다. 이는 학습자가 문화의 상대주의적 관점을 넘어 자신이 기존에 인식하고 있던 문화와 목표문화를 통합하는 과정에 이르렀음을 의미한다. 본 연구를 통해 문화 간 이해를 모색하는 과정에서 학습자들 간의 상호작용에 비중을 둔 수업 단계의 중요성을 확인하였으며, 매체를 활용한 언어문화교육에서 문화 내용에 따른 적절한 매체 적용의 중요성을 보여 주었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine how intermediate and advanced learners of Korean accept and reproduce the goal culture after a language-cultural education programme conducted with Korean cultural contents. This research issues some significant results and implications as follow: The first result comes out from the analysis of the learners assignments after having a teaching session with Korean cultural contents, which include contents extracted from TV programs and commercials. The data collected from the students show both the processes of adaptation and integration of two different cultures. This implies that learners’ adaptability to the goal culture does not seem to be affected by the culture-specific characteristics of the teaching materials but rather adapted by the intercultural competency that individual students have. Second, on the contrary, the process of cultural integration is observed in the same manner when learners are educated with either materials of culture-specific or culture-universal contents. This can be interpreted that learners can reach the point where they can integrate the source and the goal culture, overcoming cultural-relative perspective through education. This study emphasizes significance of interactive teaching and learning in a language-cultural classroom. Learners are better able to understand linguistic meanings if utilizing appropriate language-cultural media texts.
