국문 초록

요 약 : 현대인의 스트레스를 야기하는 요인은 다양하게 존재한다. 또한 이러한 스트레스로 인해 각종 질병이 야기된다. 사회적 불평등이 심화되고 외적 가치가 중요해진 현대에서 스트레스는 더 이상 개인만의 문제가 아닌 사회 병리 현상의 주요 원인으로 다루어져야 할 것이다. 관광은 일상에서 발생하는 스트레스를 감소시키는 질병 예방적 효과를 발휘할 수 있다. 이에 이 연구는 레크리에이션 기회 분포 유형에 따라 관광자원을 분류하여 스트레스 감소이론 및 주의회복이론의 관점에서 관광자원과 스트레스 관련 요인들과의 관계를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2010년 1월부터 2022년 12월까지의 서울시 사회 통계 데이터 31개 항목과 북한산, 서울대공원, 경복궁 내국인 방문자수 데이터를 수집하여 요인분석, 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 준-원시적 관광자원인 북한산과 준-인공적인 서울대공원의 방문자수는 미세먼지와 습도 관련 환경 요인 이외의 환경, 사회, 경제, 경범죄 요인과의 관계에서 스트레스에 유의미한 영향 관계를 나타내었고, 북한산과 서울대공원 방문자수가 신체적 및 정신적 질병에 유의미한 부(-)의 영향을 나타내었다. 인공적 관광자원인 경복궁의 내국인 방문자수는 미세먼지, 기압, 바람, 습도 관련 환경 요인 이외의 환경, 경제, 강력범죄, 경범죄 요인과의 관계에서 유의미한 영향 관계를 나타내었고, 경복궁 내국인 방문자수가 신체적 및 정신적 질병에 유의미한 부(-)의 영향을 나타내었다. 관광의 사회환경적 기능과 역할을 탐구하기 위해서는 거시적인 연구가 필요하고, 거시적인 사회통계 지표를 통한 연구가 더 광범위하고 일반화된 결론을 도출해낼 수 있다. 이 연구는 사회 통계 데이터를 수집하고 분석함으로써 관광의 사회환경적 기능과 역할에 대해 탐구하였고, 관광활동적 측면에서 스트레스를 감소시키기 위한 방안을 논의하고자 하였다. 이는 실질적인 관광정책 수립과 관광자원 관리를 위한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In modern society, various factors cause stress, which in turn can lead to a wide range of diseases. As social inequality intensifies and external values gain greater significance, stress is no longer just a personal issue but a major cause of social pathology. Tourism, by providing a break from daily routines, can serve as a preventive measure to reduce stress. This study analyzes the relationship between tourism resources and stress-related factors through the lens of stress recovery and attention restoration theories. Tourism resources are categorized according to the types of recreational opportunities they provide. To conduct the analysis, 31 social statistics indicators from Seoul, covering the period from January 2010 to December 2022, were collected. Additionally, visitor data from three popular sites—Bukhansan Mountain, Seoul Grand Park, and Gyeongbokgung Palace—were used. The study employed factor analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results showed that visits to Bukhansan, a semi-primitive tourism resource, and Seoul Grand Park, a semi-modern resource, were significantly influenced by environmental, social, economic, and misdemeanor factors, excluding air pollution and humidity. These visits were also associated with a reduction in physical and mental illnesses. Gyeongbokgung Palace, categorized as an artificial tourism resource, showed significant relationships with various environmental, economic, and crime factors, excluding PM10, air pressure, and wind. Visits to Gyeongbokgung Palace were also linked to a reduction in physical and mental health issues. This study highlights the importance of macro-level research in exploring the social and environmental functions of tourism. By utilizing broad social statistics, it draws generalized conclusions on how tourism can alleviate stress. The findings can serve as foundational data for the development of practical tourism policies and the management of tourism resources.
