블록모델링을 활용한 한국자동차산업 공급네트워크 구조 분석

국문 초록

네트워크에서 노드 간의 직접적인 연결 관계를 기반으로 하지 않더라도, 같은 위치를 차지하고 있거나, 같은 역할을 수행하는 정도를 기준으로 노드들을 구분하고 관계 패턴을 확인할 수 있다. 이를 ‘등위성’이라고 하며, 등위성 분석을 활용하면 자동차산업에서 구조적으로 동등한 공급업체들의 유사한 행동양식, 이해관계 등을 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구는 2019년 기준 한국기업데이터의 거래 데이터를 활용하여 CONCOR와 블록모델링을 통해 한국자동차산업 공급네트워크의 구조적인 특성을 실증적으로 분석하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국자동차산업 공급네트워크는 6개의 블록으로 구분되었으며, 국내 6개 완성차업체는 서로 다른 블록에 속해 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 업력, 매출액, 총자산과 같은 속성에 대해 블록 간에 비교하였을 때 블록 4와 5의 속성 평균값이 다른 블록에 비해 유의미하게 큰 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 블록 간의 관계적인 특성을 살펴보면 블록 5는 C30에 속한 공급업체 구성 비율이 높으며, 한국자동차산업 공급네트워크에서 중추적인 역할을 하는 블록이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 이론적 의의는 구조적 등위성 개념을 공급사슬관리 연구 분야에 최초로 적용함으로써 규모가 크고 복잡한 공급네트워크 구조를 더욱 체계적으로 파악할 수 있는 이론적 방법이 새롭게 제시한 것이다. 또한 실무적 관점에서 보면, 본 연구 결과는 현업 관리자들이 거시적 관점에서 공급네트워크 전체를 조망하고 파악할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study empirically analyzes the supply network of the Korean automotive industry through CONCOR, a structural equivalence analysis, and blockmodeling. Using equivalence analysis, it is possible to classify nodes based on occupying the same position in the network and identify the relationship pattern between them, even if it is not based on direct connections between nodes. The results of the study are as follows First, the supply network of the Korean automobile industry was divided into six blocks, and the six domestic automakers belonged to different blocks. Second, we found that blocks 4 and 5 were significantly larger than blocks 1 and 2 in terms of attributes such as sales and total assets. Finally, the relational characteristics between the blocks suggest that block 5 plays a pivotal role in the supply network of the Korean automobile industry. The theoretical significance of this study is that it is the first to apply the concept of structural equivalence to the field of SCM research, providing a new way to systematically understand the structure of large and complex supply networks. In addition, from a practical perspective, it can help managers to view and understand the entire supply network from a macro perspective.
