국문 초록

계룡산은 삼국시대부터 국가적 제사처로 숭상되었고 절경으로 조선시대 사대부들에게 깊은 인상을 준 명산으로 이어져 현재에 이른다. 대표적인 사찰은 동학사, 갑사, 신원사로서 다양한 문헌자료와 문화유산을 남겼다. 현재는 없어진 고왕암과 마명암은 백제 패망과 관련된 설화를 간직하고 있어 콘텐츠 활용측면에서도 중요한 자료를 제공한다. 계룡산에 남아 있는 불교조각은 석불은 적은 편이며 대부분 조선시대 17세기 이후부터 근대까지 다양한 재료로 만든 작품들이 전한다. 특히 17세기에는 가장 우수한 조형성을 가진 불상들이 남아 있다. 계룡산의 사찰과 불교조각은 향후 집중적인 조사와 연구가 필요한 중요자료로서, 그 특징 분석을 통해 국립공원 계룡산이 갖는 불교문화적 의미와 고찰이필요하다.

영문 초록

Gyeryongsan Mountain was considered an important national memorial service site during the Three Kingdoms Period. It was a famous mountain with bizarre peaks and beautiful scenery that impressed the noble classes during the Joseon Dynasty. Historic temples and hermitages date to the present with the tradition and history of the Gyeryongsan Mountains. Donghaksa, Gapsa, and Sinwonsa are representative templates for various literary materials and cultural heritage sites. These templates provide important data for content utilization. The Gowangam and Mamyeongam Hermitages, with no traces now, have left behind folktales related to the defeat of the Baekje Dynasty. Most Buddhist sculptures in the temples and hermitages in Gyeryongsan date back to the 17th century or later during the Joseon Dynasty. Although Gyeryongsan is a rocky mountain, few stone Buddha statues exist, but many outstanding wooden Buddha statues from a formative point of view in the late Joseon Dynasty, as well as clay Buddha sculptures and Zeolite Buddha statues in the modern period, have notable features. Buddhist sculptures and temples in Gyeryongsan are important subjects for intensive investigations and future research. By analyzing their characteristics, it is necessary to consider the Buddhist cultural significance of Gyeryongsan as a national park.
