시조에 나타난 가족 돌봄의 양상과 그 의미

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 가족을 형상화한 시조에 나타나는 ‘돌봄’의 양상을 살펴보고, 이를 통해 가족 관련 시조를 더욱 긴밀하게 읽어내고자 하는데 있다. 조선이라는 시대적 상황으로 인해 가족 돌봄을 문학적으로 형상화한 많은 시조들이 유교 윤리의 강력한 자장 속에 놓여 있기는 하지만, 이러한 시조 이외에도 구체적인 삶의 경험을 바탕으로 한 돌봄의 모습이나 돌봄의 영역에서 일탈하거나 소외된 존재들이 형상화된 가족 시조들도 여럿 찾아볼 수 있다. 본고는 이러한 작품을 대상으로 가족 시조 속 돌봄의 양상을 살펴보고자 하였다. 먼저, 훈민 시조류 작품에서는 이상적 가족 돌봄의 양상을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 정철 <훈민가>, 박인로 <오륜가> 등의 작품에서 드러나는 가족 돌봄의 윤리들은 삶의 체험이나 일상의 구체적 모습들이 형상화된 것이라기 보다는 백성들이 유교적 이념에 따르는 삶을 살 수 있도록 하는 일종의 공적 방침에 해당한다. 즉, 해당 작품들에 제시된 가족 돌봄은 백성들을 교화시킬 목적으로 제시된 이상적 가족 돌봄의 모습을 띠고 있는 것이다. 다음으로, 김계나 박응성, 허정의 시조에서는 구체적인 삶의 경험을 바탕으로 하는 가족 돌봄의 양상을 살필 수 있었다. 이들 작품 속 일상의 구체적 설정과 표현들을 통해 드러난 가족 돌봄의 양상들은 가족 돌봄의 구체적 상황과 정서들을 훨씬 입체적으로 살펴볼 수 있게 해준다는 점에서 의미를 가진다. 마지막으로 사설시조에 나타난 가족 돌봄의 예외적 모습들을 살펴보았다. 특히, 여성 존재인 아내나 어머니, 며느리의 모습을 중심으로 가족 돌봄에서 일탈하거나 소외된 존재들이 어떻게 시조 속에 형상화 되어 있는지 살펴볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine the aspects of 'care' that appear in the sijo that embodies the family, and to read the family-related sijo more closely through this. Although many of the sijo that literaryly embody family care are placed in the strong area of Confucian ethics due to the situation of the Joseon Dynasty, in addition to these sijo, several family sijo that depict the appearance of care based on specific life experiences or beings who have deviated from the realm of care or are marginalized can be found. This paper aimed to examine the aspects and meanings of care in the family sijo for these works. First, in the works of the Hunmin sijo, the aspect of 'ideal' family care could be examined. The ethics of family care revealed in works such as Jeongcheol and Park In-ro are not embodied in life experiences or concrete aspects of daily life, but rather correspond to a kind of public policy that allows the people to live a life according to Confucian ideology. In other words, the family care presented in these works takes the form of ideal family care presented for the purpose of edifying the people. Next, in the progenitors of Kim Gye, Park Eung-sung, and Heo Jeong, it was possible to examine the aspects of family care based on specific life experiences. The aspects of family care revealed through specific settings and expressions of daily life in these works are meaningful in that they enable a much more three-dimensional look at the specific situations and emotions of family care. Finally, the exceptional aspects of family care that appeared in Sasoel sijo were examined. In particular, it was possible to examine how beings who deviated from family care or were marginalized were embodied in the sijo, focusing on the appearance of wives, mothers, and daughters-in-law, who are female beings.
