영문 초록

The birth of detective story began with the development of novel. It was the result coming from the rapid growth of city and the advance of science. A crime was expanded in the complex cities, and that enhanced the police system and scientific crime investigation. Also, positivism science can clear not only biological process in human body but also procedure of thought. Economical growth accompanying with capitalism made the reading public come up to the surface, and which accelerated the development of detective novel. Changing circumstance distributed the right to write to the public and then, they could begin to write. The public who could write reflected their though and feeling into text. Like as a matter of life and death depends on the hand of the audience, many parts of literature genre rely on readers' judgments. The times in which a reader kept though and questions in his mind has gone. Development and expansion of media have inspired craving for writing into the public. However, not all the public began to write detective story even though the desire for writing was raised in the public. Also, the theme in detective novel which is murder, was not ordinary experience so that it was not easy to run into a fragrant crime in trivial round of daily life. The distinctive characteristic of detective story intimately associated with social evolution is modernity. The method of investigation in detective story depends on not preternatural or superstition but logical and scientific inspection. That is the modernity inside detective story. However, detective story was admitted inferior to other genre because it was reflected to public taste and it was positioned lower ranking in literature for long time. In twenty one century, many literature genre has faced on crisis. Emergency of reflection media has taken off eyes of readers and recently appearing text couldn't be categorized one genre, which demonstrates cross-over feature. This moment at which many critics says literature's crisis is the time to grasp opportunity. Detective story in this time has made an effort to enter territory of real literature.
