국문 초록

본 연구는 성인 장애인 가족의 구성원인 비장애 형제자매의 자존감 형성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구방법은 서울 및 경기도에 위치한 장애인복지관, 성인 주간보호센터, 장애인 보호작업장 등 성인 장애인이 소속되어 있는 기관의 협력을 받아 총 223명의 비장애 형제자매를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 t, F 검증과 중다회귀 분석을 활용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 가족탄력성과 사회적 지지는 자존감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났으며 그 설명력이 인구·사회학적 변인보다 높게 나타났다. 가족 고유의 탄력성과 가족 바깥의 사회적 지지가 어떻게 성인 장애인의 비장애 형제자매의 자존감에 긍정적인 영향을 주는지를 살펴보고 그 의미를 탐색했다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted in order to identify the factors that influence the self-esteem of the non-disabled siblings of adult family members with disabilities. A total of 223 non-disabled siblings were interviewed in cooperation with institutions for adults with disabilities, such as welfare centres for the disabled, adult day care centres and workshops for the disabled, located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and the results were analysed using t and F tests and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed that family resilience and social support had a significant impact on self-esteem. Their explanatory power was higher than that of demographic variables. The significance of this study is that it examines how family resilience and social support outside the family can have a positive impact on the self-esteem of adult siblings of people with disabilities and explores the implications.
