국문 초록

수학적 회복탄력성은 학습자가 수학 학습 중 어려움에 직면하였을 때 포기하지 않고, 이를 긍정적으로 극복해 나가려는 능력을의미한다. 수학적 회복탄력성은 학습자가 수학을 포기하지 않고 지속해나가는 데 영향을 미친다. 따라서 학생들의 수학적 회복탄력성을 이해하고, 그 실태를 파악하는 것은 수학 학습자의 정의적 특성을 이해하고, 어려움을 겪는 학습자를 돕기 위한 다양한 교수학습 방법 및 정책 개발에 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수학적 회복탄력성의 하위 네 가지 측면인 가치, 신념, 성장, 회복탄력성을중심으로 문항을 개발, 초등학교 3∼6학년 학생들의 수학적 회복탄력성을 측정할 수 있는 설문 도구를 개발하였다. 통계적 방법을활용한 조사 결과의 신뢰도, 타당도 분석 결과 가치, 신념, 회복탄력성과 관련한 20개의 하위문항으로 이루어진 초등학생용 수학적회복탄력성 측정 도구를 완성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 측정 도구는 향후 학생들의 수학적 회복탄력성을 포함한 정의적 특성을이해하는 것 뿐만 아니라 이와 관련한 다양한 교수학습자료 개발 및 교육 정책을 수립하는데 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Mathematical resilience refers to the ability of a learner not to give up when faced with difficulties while learning mathematics and to overcome them positively. Mathematical resilience affects learners’ ability to continue math without giving up. Therefore, understanding students' mathematical resilience and its status is necessary for understanding the defining characteristics of mathematics learners and developing various teaching and learning methods and policies to help struggling learners. In this study, I applied a survey tool to measure the mathematical resilience of 3rd to 6th grade elementary school students. A mathematical resilience measurement tool developed through two pilot tests was applied to 541 students from five randomly selected elementary schools in Seoul, South Korea. As a result of analyzing the reliability and validity of the survey results using statistical methods, a mathematical resilience measurement tool for elementary school students consisting of 20 sub-questions related to values, beliefs, and resilience was completed. The measurement tool developed in this study is expected to provide implications not only for understanding the defining characteristics, including mathematical resilience, of students in the future, but also for developing various teaching and learning materials and establishing educational policies.
