초등돌봄교실 참여에 영향을 미치는 학교 요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등돌봄교실 참여에 영향을 미치는 학교 요인을 분석하기 위해 교육부와 한국교육학술정보원의 에듀데이터서비스시스템(EDSS: Edu Data Service System)에서 제공하는 학교정보공시, 나이스, 초등 교육통계 자료를 활용하였다. 국내 3,574개 초등학교를 분석 대상으로 활용하였다. 분석 방법으로 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하여 초등돌봄교실 참여에 영향을 주는 각각의 변인이 영향을 미치는 설명력을 확인하고자 하였다. 초등돌봄교실 참여율을 종속변수로 설정하였고, 학교특성 변인, 학교 교육활동 프로그램 변인, 학교시설 변인을 독립변수로 설정하여 순차적으로 투입하였다. 또한 지역별 초등돌봄교실 참여율을 분석하여 지역 특성에 따른 초등돌봄교실 참여율에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 학교 특성 변인에 해당하는 모형 1의 설명력은 34%로 나타났다. 학교 교육활동 프로그램 변인을 투입한 모형 2의 설명력은 12.6% 증가하였으며 학교시설 변인을 추가적으로 투입한 모형 3의 설명력은 6.2% 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 지역별 초등돌봄교실 참여율의 경우 중소도시와 읍면지역에서의 초등돌봄교실 참여율이 대도시보다 높게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 분석 결과를 토대로 도출한 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등돌봄교실 참여가 활성화될 수 있도록 시설 확충이 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 초등돌봄교실 수요가 많은 중소·읍면 지역을 중심으로 초등돌봄교실의 수요가 온전히 해소될 수 있도록 해야 한다. 셋째, 저학년과 고학년을 위한 방과후학교 프로그램이 다양하게 개설되어야 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed school factors affecting participation in elementary school care programs by using data from Edu Data Service System (EDSS). A total of 3,574 elementary schools in Korea were analyzed. The analysis method was hierarchical multiple regression to examine the explanatory power of each variable affecting participation in elementary school care programs. The dependent variable was the participation rate of elementary school care programs, and the independent variables were school characteristics, school educational activity programs, and school facilities. In addition, by analyzing the participation rate of elementary school care programs by region, this study examined the participation rate of elementary school care programs according to regional factors. The results showed that the explanatory power of model 1, which includes school characteristics variables, is 34%. The explanatory power of model 2, which includes the school education activity program variable, increased by 12.6%, and the explanatory power of model 3, which includes the school facility variable, increased by 6.2%. In terms of the participation rate of elementary school care programs by region, it was found that the participation rate of elementary school care programs in small cities and towns were higher than in large cities. In conclusion, the following implications can be drawn from the analysis. First, school facilities should be expanded to accommodate elementary school care programs. Second, it is necessary to expand the number of elementary school care programs to be focused on small cities and towns where there is a high demand for elementary school care programs. Third, after-school programs should be diversified. This means that elementary school care programs should be operated not only for lower grades but also for higher grades.
