『행록』에 나타난 이순신의 명운 고찰

국문 초록

이 논문은 명리학의 지명체계를 통해 『행록』에 나타난 이순신의 명운과 생애 및 임란왜란 기 연전연승 등의 상관성을 고찰한 것이다. 이순신의 생애 중에서 결혼, 시험, 승진과 파직, 건강, 모친과 아들의 사망 등은 이순신의 개인적인 명운과 관련이 많다고 할 수 있다. 임진왜란 전 이순신이 준비한 병력의 충원, 전선 건조, 거북선 창제, 상륙 저지 시설의 설치, 해전 위주의 훈련 등은 수신사명의 자세로서 사람이 할 수 있는 노력을 다한 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 또한 임진왜란 기 해전에서의 민간정보 활용, 지형과 조류를 활용한 전술, 신상필벌과 필사즉생의 리더십, 주민과의 융화 등은 맹자가 말한 천시와 지리 및 인화를 이루고자 하는 노력으로 보인다. 명량해전의 기적을 보면, 이순신 개인의 명운은 물론 조선을 유지하려는 국가 차원의 명운이 동시에 작용한 것으로 보인다. 이순신의 운명관은 공자의 운명결정론보다는 맹자나 순자의 운명가능론에 보다 가까워 보인다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the relationship between Lee Sun-sin's life and successive victory in the Imjin War and Lee Sun-sin's fate shown in the Haengrok. In Lee Sun-sin's life, marriage, exams, promotion and dismissal, health, and death of his mother and son are related to Lee Sun-sin's personal fate. The recruitment of troops prepared by Lee Sun-sin before the Imjin War, the construction of wires, the creation of turtle ships, the installation of landing prevention facilities, and the training focused on naval warfare can be evaluated as the efforts of those who wait for Heaven's decree after cleaning themselves. In addition, the use of human information in the Imjin War, tactics using topography and currents, leadership of transcriptional life, and harmony with residents seem to be an effort to achieve heaven, geography, and harmony as Mencius said. Looking at the miracle of the Battle of Myeongnyang, it seems that Lee Sun-sin's personal fortune as well as the national fortune to maintain Joseon worked at the same time. Yi Sun-sin's view of fate seems to be closer to the theory of fate of Mencius or Xunzi than Confucius' theory of fate decision.
